The Uber theory is true. I tried it half a year ago and the difference is a few dollars. But Uber is not only battery dependent but also event dependent! When Switzerland played Spain in the European Championship, I wanted to take an Uber home for about 4 minutes (just before the game started). The ride would have cost me 40 dollars...

I have been to Turkey twice with my wife and son in the last 18 years, and was blown away by how lovely you Turks are. Extremely polite and very very helpful. As for your food, it is out of this world. I am certain the chef in paradise will be a turk. It reminds me of my mother’s food, who was born in Mosul, a city a few kilometres from Turkey.

How far in advance do you have to book these hotels near the track? Many times a whole city almost sells out of rooms. Do you have access to any FIA/F1 room blocks? Is there a media travel coordinator? I know you pay but can they help with arrangements at least?

Both nice hotels. I recently had a prime ribeye steak I cooked by reverse searing. Cooked in oven first to 120F, then placed in blazing hot cast iron skillet on stovetop to sear, turning every 90 sec until reaching 135F internal temp. Perfect medium rare. I salted it normally, not off my elbow.
