I flew into salt lake one week ago. OKC ~> SLC for anyone who wants to track a path. My 6yo and I were at the window looking for a break in the clouds to see the mountains coming in. The clouds opened and clear as day I saw two large visible pieces of cut stone that are light in color like sand compared to the darker mountain rock. I decided to stay quiet and let my child have a look and see if he noticed. He turned to me and said “mom, I see a pyramid” You guys- when I tell you that it shook me to the core I am not exaggerating. I saw it too. The clouds and snow (plus my desire to SEE with my eyes) kept me from photographing. It has snowed non stop here for 4 or 5 days but in the spring we must get on google earth and find this structure. It is large. There are at least 2 visible pieces. Perfectly straight cut stone light in color. As I said I was flying OKC to SLC sitting on the south western side of the plane.

I was just thinking the same thing. My Dad and I used to explore all the woods. I remember a brick-making place near my home, it had been there forever. We went in, it was creepy and scary, and ya, we were told it was built to build the city, but how long ago? This was maybe 1976 - to me, it could have been 100 years old, as old as the city, but it was in serious disrepair for it being used to create the city, and then to fall apart so quickly. I had never thought of it, and there were buildings like this everywhere when I was a kid. This is an eye-opener, because we used to explore this stuff. My Dad had so many questions, unanswered. Sorry this is so long, I just found this thread, video, and have never ever thought these thoughts. I just learned of star forts last week, quite by accident, and I think I live by three, or three parts of an old city. -- wow.. and Ft Jefferson (the star fort that got me interested), which is close, but not. This is not vague, just enlightening. Now I'm down another rabbit hole. Are they going to destroy us again, to start over, so we're stupid, again?

Regarding Jon's comments at the very end about the "blocked off wall", I've been thinking about what Jon said about how it didn't look "original". He had to climb up a very steep landscape to get to this hidden spot. Just looking at this ancient structure from the front, I get the feeling that it may just be an entryway that leads to an ancient underground city or other ancient structures. If that "blocked off wall" was not present - I bet you could just walk on through to what awaits on the other side! Very very interesting. Thanks Jon - you never cease to amaze me with your videos!

There was a keg and camp fire every weekend up there in 72- 74. Leashes protect your dog... Not leashing your pet shows a disregard for their safety and a disregard for others who may wish to enjoy the public space. In Oregon there is a famous spot on the coast where numerous dogs have fallen to their doom because of owners letting them off leash in a grassy area without realizing the dangers, we can see where a cliff is, we understand complex dangers, but a dog only needs to be distracted briefly by a squirrel and not realize a cliff is right past that bush. Two different German shepherds, months apart had to be air lifted off those rocks. All that money, time, manpower and sadness, because a simple leash wasn't used. It's up to us to keep them safe. Is a retractable leash or long lead really so inconvenient it's worth disregarding your animals safety and disregarding other people's enjoyment of the same public space?

Many of the old rail tracks have been harvested for the turncoat U.S. industries that moved to China for cheap labor. So, it was feasible that mining rails with climbing cog wheels could easily make the grades without horses similar to Helper Utah and Price Utah where a company town "Helper" with housing, high school with a large swimming pool a large water tank, etc. was a railroad assist engine puller using cog drives. It was "abandoned" at Soldier Summit and relocated in Price. The railroad system is a mere skeleton of what it was before the 1970's as much of the rails were salvaged and trains started using robot remote controls by microwave repeaters in the 1980's. Only emergency brakemen ride the diesel engines much anymore, so the automation eliminated many of the old school railroad corps. jobs. It would be easier to transport the ore to localized kilns and then take the finished lime by small rail down further to the factories and construction sites in the valley. The big mystery was why the rails were abandoned and that was because the Crown Commonwealth was finished using the American colonist experimental resource mining system for the easy access ores and cheap labor has gone to exploit China and other poor countries using funny money fiat notes and free energy wage slaves.

There is also an as abandoned "CCC camp" town with a swimming pool way out in the West desert at Simpson Springs supposedly as a Pony Express stop. Pony Express was used as a cover story and only lasted one year. The govern-mental agency went bankrupt and wouldn't pay the riders, so the riders stole the horses in kind. The "horse thieves get hung" became the legal fiction legislation after that happened.

giant bucket wheel excavators ? i dont think giant people did this , if you search for 'bagger 288' you will find one of the largest giants ever made and the reason the earth is shaped by mountains and hills of mining/quarry waste ..and search earth is a giant quarry also for some extra ideas to show what i mean 🙂@@AceXav

❤Morning brother Jon...I was born in SLC, Utah at Salt Lake General Hospital in 1962. My family shares a tale of an immediate family member who left the church and civilization to live in the Uintah mountains above SLC. Peter the Hermit had a very long gray beard nearly down to his knees. Although rarely seen by family...he evidently made a track downtown the time I was born & at 125 years old insisted on cradling me as a newborn & there is a black and white family photo of this incident. And as the story goes...Peter the hermit says I have a special purple aura💜(my favorite color). ....& he treks back up the mountain never to be seen again. Love your content, blessings dear Jon & Chief💜💙

Raw, pure, and authentic. One of your best videos, Jon. Thank you for taking us along. There were moments when I felt what you were feeling. Sorta creepy being watched. I know that no one will ever give an accurate revelation of what really went on here in the deep past. But that just makes the questions and explorations all the more exhilarating. Carry on, brother!

If you think those kilns are remote, you should research the perfectly intact “Wildrose Charcoal Kilns” in California - they are in THE MIDDLE of the Death Valley. Yes, hours of driving from any direction. Moreover, only 100miles from there there are other two kilns along the 395, before Lone Pine In the Eastern Sierras, called “Cottonwood charcoal kilns.” I visited them last month. No trace of soot. I then went to the Eastern California Museum and upon telling the director about the remoteness of those kilns, she said to me, “ yes, isn’t it amazing what they used to achieve back in the day? And they had also BUILT A CHUTE from the high sierras directly to the kilns, to slide down the logs.” After saying this out loud, even she realized this was ridiculous, in fact, she corrected herself, “ or at least, this is what they tell us.” (Of course, there is NO TRACE whatsoever of these “slides”) If you google these places, call them at the Eastern California Museum of Independence, CA. They are happy to help researchers, and they are all ladies mountaineers.

Thanks for the tour Jon! Incredible in the middle of nowhere structure. The internals morphing from brick to rock are great. Those machine screw bricks are wild. Never seen anything like those. Really gets the mind turning. Outstanding find and thanks to whoever tipped you off to them. Enjoyed every second of it 🔥 I’m hoping to find (before spring) the ruins of 150 coke ovens in a ghost town called Battelle,AL. Absolutely in the middle of nowhere deep in the woods. Supposedly built 1902 and only in operation for 18 months. Cheers
@I_am_Kairos10 ай бұрын
I think the 'machine screw' was a clocking device that turned during the stamping process of the brick. straight up is noon or specific shift/season and so on. Many cast iron operations still use this method to track production specifics.

It indeed was water. Look up lake Bonneville. Far up on the east and west mountains around where he was st you can still find ancient seashells everywhere. As the lake receded it left behind the great salt lake which is one if the biggest inland salt lakes in the world. It's about 5 miles or so to the north west of where he was hiking and it's massive. If you look at a map of utah, it's the big lake you'll see. Bonneville covered a good portion of the western states at one time in ancient history.

Your videos are an inspiration! I'm always on the lookout for "structures" while hiking in the Northwest Cascades. Unfortunately, they are very difficult to spot because of all the towering trees and vegetation! I've only come across one "lime kiln", and it was similar to yours, way out in the middle of nowhere! It's located in Granite Falls Washington State.

A fabulous explore Jon. Great scenery, nice bit of vicarious exercise, then some ruins that really as you say are a 'slam dunk' for quite a rethink on what was going on in early Utah...& how early was it really, & most seriously, how/what sort of energy was unleashed to cook things out that much??? I can't help but feel as if the ruin was repaired at some point. Reminds me of the ruins in South America, where you have the beautiful cyclopean blocks as the base, then smaller pieces, trying to repair gaps and whatnot. The distinction is less here, but I think, still visible. The Gospel is 1 Cor 15; 1-4. God bless you all, in Jesus' name. Amen.
