Bringing his unique style and approach to flameworking to The Studio, Salt teaches students in his class how to break down color palettes and assemble sculptures from multiple pieces. Get an insider’s view into his processes during this live stream from the class Sculpture & Lampworking Technique on August 28. See the final piece starting at 56:23.
When not teaching at The Studio, Salt lets his imagination run wild and creates glass creatures and functional sculptures with personalities that often reflect his mood or emotions. www.cmog.org/b...
Take a look into a class at The Studio and watch as internationally renowned faculty demonstrate for their classes ranging from furnace sculpting to flameworking to any other variety of glassblowing techniques. To register for classes, visit www.cmog.org/p...

The little flicking thing salt does with the color rods is my best take away from this, I totally get it after trying it

Hello from the UK. I first started watching your channel because of "functional" glass. No one in Britain creates it. That was about 10 months ago and I've been blown away (pun intended) by the artists you feature. Some truly stunning work. I've been led to believe that artists like Salt, who create functional pieces are sometimes looked down upon as artists in the world of creative glass? I admit I was surprised to see this video, and was lucky to catch it live! That said, were you aware that Purr Glass has a channel with instructional videos about functional glass but youtube is taking them down for reasons that are a bit suspect? Just wondered what your take was of that? Anyhoo, love this channel, thank you for everyone's hard work!

One Viewer knows what a gun mount is and also Corning made the mount but not the gun or neck/tube. I worked in the CRT gun room at the Sylvania Plant in Seneca Falls 60 years ago.

Anyone know what torch he’s using here? Thought it was a mirage but it looks like it has an extra row of jets, doesn’t look big enough to be a delta though. Maybe I’m missing a torch in between those two
