1:08 this is what martial arts is all about. Great sparring partner. He notices Salt Papi is a little punch shy and that he needs a little confidence, so he just shells up and allows Papi to throw some shots, then goes back to work giving him something to worry about, which is how you evolve as a fighter. Giving someone a little encouragement can help so damn much. No ego, just a proper martial artist helping someone learn.

@@strangeone7198 You could be right but the reason I think he was doing it to encourage Salt Papi is because of the difference in experience/skill level altogether. The dude Salt Papi is sparring is a 14-2 pro. I think he was taking it easy on him and allowing him to build up his confidence because he knows he's there to help an inexperienced guy who's not on his level at all.

Soft sparring is all about technique and basics which is what this was . Both are going easy , going through the motions

crazy how many levels there are to combat sports because salt papi makes the other influencers look below amateur level while salt papi performs at a professional level, but he's only going to get better if they keep putting him with sparring partners who completely out match him but hold back to train his reflexes it could also be that he's just very nervous in sparring and he puts everything together when he's fighting in front of a crowd

what im actually impressed with is that SP didn't have any ego issue with bringing in a pro, recording this, and showing the world his training, even if he was slightly outclassed here. tells me that he has the right mentality to learn, challenge himself, improve, all without ego. he'll go really really far if he keeps this up

@@cutter9562 LOL after rereading your comment that's a good thing to point out. I was impressed with how good SP is for having little professional training but yes the pro was holding back tons. He was faster, stronger, and smarter. There would just be no point in going all in if the goal os for SP to learn, though. He let him feel comfortable and conditioned him with his actions.

If you trained even just 1 session of boxing, you know that this takes a lot of stamina and power. Great work here. Throwing punches in that amount of time and moving even without sparring is a lot of work.

What I like about Papi is his approach and willignness to learn, he clearly doesn't do things unnecessary in training. Like punching like a wildman, you see him studying. He is nowhere near a professional level, but has the talent.

Papi needs to get RJJ as his trainer. Papi has that twitchy movement but just needs someone to capitalise on it. Papi is a great counterpuncher & has the natural twitchiness & athleticism but needs the footwork & a trainer who can capitalise on it & RJJ is the best trainer for him.

I just wanna say that they are doing a light spar session. Using the professional part as like a “aye look at him keep up with a pro” is terrible. But this could be why’s he’s better than the other yt fighters because they spar with no complete nobodies and learn nothing. Because how long KSI been boxing and he still fights with windmills and it’s sad, salt at least moves very well
