Ok, before the invention of power tools how was this accomplished? (I need to do this in my kitchen and I DO NOT want the dust from the saw flying everywhere - including into the air that I breathe)

poolahpot Before the invention of power tools, I guess “Victor” was the go-to guy for tasks like this. (There are a number of dust-prevention barrier systems that you can buy and sometimes even rent. Or you could build one yourself. And to prevent inhaling dust, wear a respirator.)

Catalina Floor Care Aw, thanks so much for replying! lololol we have so many “Victors” in our house still after 20+ years! It never ceases to amaze me what that man did - and he loved tape too! (100+ yr old house we purchased from a “DIYer” lol) I still have a kitchen drawer that only opens 1/2 way because it hits the oven! (forehead slap) We are FINALLY giving our kitchen a facelift and want to keep our saltillo tile, but need to replace 10 that are cracked. The tile is about 21 pieces by 15 pieces (plus a small foyer and laundry area) so 10 cracked is not a lot. Thanks for all of the helpful info! Love in Christ, Mrs. B 😊 in Fl

Not all Victors are dimwits. What's wrong with Tom, Dick, or Harry?
