Even though I am a veteran eclipse chaser, I am struck by the beauty of each and every one! August 21, 2017. Rigby, Idaho. Totality blossoms. Planet Venus appears overhead. Low in the southwest sky, stars of the constellation Orion appear: Betelgeuse, Bellatrix, and Saiph, (no Rigel, it was lost in the haze). And the star Sirius, burns in the midday summer sky. I was absolutely without words, and I still shudder with emotion just thinking about it!

yea, actually I do, it happens a MIN of 4 times a year, but depending on the year, it can happen up to 7 times a YEAR. The ONLY thing that is rare about this is the fact it went completely across the US. We have many solar eclipses each and every year on this planet. LOOK IT UP

I drove several hours to get away from the clouds and managed to see the eclipse with around 90% blockage. Since I wasn't in a full eclipse area, the sunlight only slightly dimmed like a pair of golden brown sunglasses. I was a little bummed.
