Amazing, first time's bring on the joyous feeling of accomplishment aboard Rediviva. Not only do these accomplished sailors hove too, they also anchor under sail.

Another useful sail trick is to use the main's topping lift to raise the boom to 'scandalize' the main, to depower it when maneuvering but to keep sailing. Ideal when having to maneuvering round other moored craft when anchoring. Probably it an old trick you have used for years, just love your channel well done you two for all your hard work.

Very nice to hear about the deeper considerations behind Garrett's choices to sail so carefully. Personally, I think he underestimated himself in terms of the proper execution of everything during construction.

There's always more to learn as you meet new situations, especially with a new boat or new equipment. After years aboard a boat you'll still find yourselves learning something new occasionally. Nice anchor set, under sail. Love the openness to still learning. That's part of a healthy life mindset. See you guys next week.

That was such a refreshing episode 🙂 Meanwhile, on an English canal, our way is barred by a broken lock and CRT, our Canal and River Trust, were very quick to bring in a floating crane to investigate. Stop planks have to go in and the lock drained, and then the diagnosis and repair can be decided. Meanwhile, I can watch you guys sailing around the Sea of Cortez - like I said, very refreshing 🙂

Viva ! Rediviva and the Crew that sail her ! Great job anchoring under sail . For years we sailed motorless and always sailed into the slip ( upwind of course ) . When you only use wind & current your sailing skills really get honed .

As a very occasional sailor from Indiana I continue to be amazed by the complexity of a sailboat. Witness Garrett, a very experienced sailor, continuing to explore the characteristics of Rediviva after sailing her for a year.

Redaviva would look cool with another short cabin top at the stern. Then a Longer tiller reaching over so the helm would be between the two cabin tops. It would give you another double berth at the back, A Captains cabin! 🤩

Got up, grabbed a Tee Shirt out of the drawer and threw it on. Flipped on the computer to see what was new on YT. Oh look, new S&T episode, best have a watch while having my coffee. It was at this point that I realized that I had my Salt and Tar Tee shirt on. How fitting. Great episode, I caught myself smiling several times. I was wondering how much I would like the sailing channel compared to the boat build channel. I'm loving it.

I have been watching you two for awhile now and the boat you two built is incredible. You guys are so blessed...you have an exceptional Woman that is not only capable but Beautiful. You have a great ship and I do wish I had money, because I would buy your Sails if I could.. just to watch a real sailor do his thing. Stay safe, have fun...and by the way, I'm a Woodworker and have been for 54 years, so I know how you feel about that call to build. Can't wait to see your new build.

Red Aviva has so much character! ❤ And she's just starting to get her own patina which only comes with use of the boat. She is the ideal craft for you guys! Hurricane season for 2023 may be a fairly quiet one for the EastPac if your upper level wind shear keeps on ɓlowing the tops off your t'storms! Here's hoping! ❤
