here in Portugal we fish with the swiming crabs for seabream, bass, etc its one of the best bait for bass here in portugal. they have very crunchy and not very strong shell. They are very fast moving and swimming and aggressive. we call them "Caranguejo Pilado"

I was having a day off today, then a customer called with an emergency. I thought I had better do the right thing, but the job took forever. Five hours later, I got home, made a brew & opened my laptop to see you had posted a new vid. That was a great video, with lots of variety, & plenty of fish. Fishing from a kayak is the most enjoyable, & productive fishing I’ve ever done. I can’t remember the last time I did any float fishing, but always loved watching the float go under. Thanks again. Have a great weekend.

Thanks Ian it makes it worthwhile to read messages like this - the kayak is king and I’ve had a bit of a lay off having paddled every year since my first (sit in) fishing kayak in 1990 . It offers more consistent catching but I particularly like the freedom of getting away from crowds fishing ! I have some float going under footage but it gives away the mark unfortunately

Starts out innocent enough, casting a few lines with your mates after school, fun and games. “It’s a gateway” they say “leads to harder stuff” but you don’t listen. Then one day you wake up to realise you’re more or less farming just to feed your habit. Saltwater angling, not even once! 😂 Great vid as usual!

Any advice for catching bass in North Devon? In Lynton/Lynmouth for the week and just getting into bass fishing...
@SaltwaterAngler3 жыл бұрын
Only indirectly as I last fished there 25 years ago. 1. Before you go consult WSF, Facebook, KZbin. 2. When your there befriend a local angler 3. Live bait or match the bait fish you see in the water. I’d avoid the deep deep Rock marks and look for some tidal movements! Have some heavier weighted sandeel type shads maybe

Hi Matt, greetings from a land locked Midlander! I only get to go sea fishing on my summer holidays & have only been doing it about 4 years so have very little experiance & knowledge. Subbed your channel some time ago & not only do you keep it alive for me, & many others I suspect, but as a point of reference the knowledge you share is invaluable. I'm looking forward to our holiday on the south coast mid July and feel this year Im going far better prepared for my early morning fishing adventures after watching all of your videos & just want to thank you for all of the time & effort you put into sharing your passion. As a thought, how about doing a series of short detailed beginers tips, like the float set up on here, for us less confident newbies? All the very best, Ian.

Not been lure fishing this season, dying to go for a few chucks this week.. I don’t get much spare time with work and 2 kids.. I’m based in north wales 🏴 question- would you say is there any point going at low tide for a few chucks for an hour or so at mid dayish? Any help from you or anyone in the comments would be much appreciated 👍🏼
@SaltwaterAngler3 жыл бұрын
Each mark will perform differently, there are marks that will see good fish right on low tide and others high tide for example. Many factors. My local beaches fish better in good sunlight but others need night or low light. There’s so many factors I’d get down when you can and start making mistakes and learning your patch.
