Soft PLUMBING Your Aquarium - Mega Matrix 120

Getting water from your sump to display tank isn’t hard, especially when using soft plumbing. In this episode, we discuss how to use flexible tubing to connect the various pieces of your plumbing design. We’ll review the pros and cons of silicone and vinyl tubing as well as tips to avoid soft plumbing disasters. We’ll also share our plans for our Mega Matrix 120 build.

this just made my decision a lot easier I was going to buy a sump but I was watching videos of the piping and all with PVC an it was scaring me , but now that I know I can go with soft tubing it makes it so much more easier.. THANK YOU !

How do you calculate head pressure with flexible tubing? Besides the “T” fitting.

is the T needed ? do you have to have 2 return lines going back into the tank or can you do just 1?

Aquarium safe silicone sealant on the barb fittings, slide the vinyl tubing on...Done. No leaks, no chance of the hose slipping off the barb fitting.....clamp it, if it helps you sleep at night.

Can you use Flex Pond tubing in a fresh water aquarium ?

For equal flow the Tee should be rotated so the pump is on the branch and the two returns on either side. Also the tubing after the tee should be as close as possible in length.

You really should change the default title picture. I was interested in the Flexible PVC as pictured in the title of the video. Yet within the first 60 seconds of the video, you announce that you aren't going to discuss flexible PVC...very deceiving.
