I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that you're usually not using much physical energy to play these sorts of games. like, you're fully zoned-in but barely moving so these emotions come through with 100% energy. contrast to sports, where you might be mad but you're just _spent_ from running/fighting/whatever. even then, sports rage might seem more tame in comparison because there's so much activity already. with vidya it's just nothingness into explosive frustration and it's just very jarring.

I know in my city a hotel that hosted fighting game tournaments banned anymore video game tournaments of any kind cause of the smash community and their refusal to keep up basic hygiene. The smash players emailed them complaining how it was unfair that they are being told what to do with their own bodies while women get to keep getting abortions to murder babies and they aren't forced to keep it. That community is just a bunch of incels who take a stupid video game so seriously that they were threating to take revenge against the hotel for taking away their monthly get together. Well it backfired on them cause now no one in the area is willing to have them because of their actions. I thinks that's the problem with these prone to rage players. They never had parents that would teach them a lesson for getting out of line. They think it's okay to act like a moron in public. Shows they have zero discipline in them.

Everyone has their moments sure but clearly these players have a very low threshold and are quite sensitive, most likely by always giving into these outbursts rather than addressing them.
