I think he's been very careful what he says about Rust because he may at some point be called to testify in legal proceedings, either civil or criminal. I would guess he's consulted an attorney . My impression is that he wasn't on set that day although I haven't seen that addressed in anything I've read. However, he may be subpoenaed as a witness with respect to firearms training and safety procedures on the set. I believe there are various lawsuits in process in the courts. And it's entirely possible that people connected with the production may be charged, so there could be criminal proceedings.

@@20thcenturyrelic I think he was on set. He made a comment after the school shooting in Texas saying it “shook me more as a dad than what happened right before my eyes, because that was premeditated. And what happened on ‘Rust’ was an accident.” It's incredibly sad if he did see it!

I wish people would come up with more original questions to ask them. They get the same questions at every convention. I can think of 100 questions to ask them that they’ve probably never been asked. Yes, they do miss time with their families for these events, including travel time. At the same time, they do make money off them. I've read that actors appearing at cons generally get an appearance fee and a cut of the proceeds - ticket sales, etc. And possibly their airfare, lodging, meals, and local transportation are covered by the con although I'm not sure about that. (Sorry, I don't have any links to articles I've read about this.) And in a way, it's easy money for them. It's only for a few days, with defined hours, they don't have to do costume fittings or sit through makeup and hair, or learn dialog, or do numerous takes of a scene, or practice stunts, or do ADR in post production. And probably 10 million other things that I don't know about because I know very little about TV or movie production.

Here in Texas, we are very proud of the motto “ Come and Take It” that Gonzales told the Mexican army, when they wanted his cannon, during the war of 1835 for Texas’ Independence. Everyone from fast food restaurants to pro gun rally’s have use the saying. The true meaning for Texans is in the pride that we were once our own independent country. Of course, liberal media will play up some pro gun people co opting the saying, as does everyone who has a cause. But hey, it’s Texas. We open carry lol. Be cool and have an awesome day dudes!
