Awesome job of explaining the stages in AFF! You kept it simple and straightforward... with great video clips to illustrate your narration. It looks like AFF is still the same as it was when I graduated back in 1994. I had to stop jumping in 1996 because my job didn't afford me the time to jump enough to stay current/safe. Freefall was the most relaxing thing I've ever done and I have nothing b ut fond memories of my jumps, the DZ (east Lebanon, ME), and the friends I made. You're a great ambassador for the sport. Keep it up!

18000 feet??? And I though the place I'm doing my AFF at had the highest altitude with 15000. Guess I was wrong. Hoping to progress and get better. It hasn’t been smooth for me. Had to repeat my L2 TWICE and my L3 once. Currently stuck at L4. I'll be getting some tunnel time for a better arch before I go back there, pretty sure this will help me get through the course. In any case, blue skies Sal. If K happen to be in DeLand one day, I hope to share a jump with you 🤘

I have additional questions lol. When you say you got sick on your first jump. What happened? You landed and puked your guts out? Is that common? Or did it happen in the air? I can't imagine the instructor behind you getting a face full of puke at 120mph. Gives a whole new meaning to facial. At Skydive DeLand we don't need a tandem right? We can jump right into AFF?
@SalvadorChangg2 жыл бұрын
You can go straight into AFF without a tandem jump at Skydive Deland. Now… yes, I got sick like I was going to puke. Motion sickness. I think it was my body’s way of saying “get me tf out of here now!” Haha it’s rare, but has happened when a tandem instructor has gotten puked on. Thankfully I didn’t do it but now working at skydive Deland I’ve seen it.
@respond_code32 жыл бұрын
@@SalvadorChangg lol thanks man. Yeah I have a issue with my right ear when I scuba. Blew my blood vessles and lost my hearing for 72 hours in the right ear. I can't equalize my right one. My buddy Mike who goes to DeLand skydive said I might have ear issues skydiving. I know when I was scuba diving and it happened everything was spinning. Thought I might puke in my reg.. I just stayed there and didn't move until my instructor got to me. Mike did offer to take me up on his plane and do some aggressive dives to see how my ear holds up before I jump. So just waiting to get together with him. I recently just got back from snowboarding and ended up with tinnitus for 2 weeks in 1 ear. I guess the elevation change from 345 ft in FL to 10,000 ft. FML. My ears are ruining everything fun!

@@SalvadorChangg I was an instructor in the early 70s, way before AFF or even tandem. I remember we had a student who puked on his first delay jump at terminal velocity. Since he puked during freefall the vomit went all over his face, goggles and into his helmet. A legend was born that day. :)

What's the rule in US for tandems before AFF, does it vary between drop zones? I never done a tandem before AFF where I trained in Australia, just a day of ground training first then stage 1 with to instructors and a radio helmet so they could guide me to land.
