It's kinda hard to pull off in the normal game and when picked up his Busters travel back to him at the same speed as Showdown cubes (and any other pickable object) which is a little slow and the health he recovers is 30% of his misding health, not max health so the fights are still winnable. I think Sam is really fun to play but requires skill. With a good skill he can be insanely strong. Easier than Buzz and maybe a little easier than Mortis.

I imagine already the randoms using Sam's super for no reason like they do with gadgets. If they're slightly panicked, they press any button on the screen without thinking twice

The only thing i don't really like about Sam is the way his attacks move. You will mostly hit only that 1 shot dealing half the possible damage of you aren't in the enemy's face

He's more similar to Primo. You can't avoid Rosa's punches in any way but you can't juke Primo the same way as Sam

Well I think Sam needs one of two possible changes to make it worth to use his super: 1) 15 Sec. Auto Super Recharge - Sam could just throw his weapon, waint around 15 sec. or more and his super will be recharged again. It's like Megs Mecha super, but 3 times longer. After that his second Star Power could cut that auto super charge by 33% (10 sec. to auto charge his super) 2) Make his second Star Power his base kit ability. Easy as that, give that sweet circle of super charging to him as base kit ability. After that second Star Power could just make that circle a little bigger, like... 15%-20% idk. One of these 2 (I would love to see my second idea in game) could make using Sam's super a little more useful. His super will become a oposite of Feel The Steel - a self charging long range attack.

I think that Sam will be used for brawl ball, with the gadgets you can do incredibly trickshoots. I think you can do it with first gadget and second star power:you trow it in the spawn, you fight and charge it passively and after you get the super, use gadget(when there are 3 enemies) , use super,re-trow and do it again and again, after that I think it a 100% score...

Now that i think about it, we have a close range brawler that lacks the damage if your enemy has a brain, is a tank with the drawbacks of a tank but not the benefits (other than health), basically no way to close the gap and also a weaker form which you might find yourself in often. BUT Sam has such a fun idea and gimmick! If supercell adds some benefit to the weak form or make the attack pattern not as easy to dodge and make the speed boost stronger/longer Sam is gonna be a really good brawler! He genuinely seems fun to play but he needs a bit of work to be viable.

I’m having a tough time why on earth Colette, Gale, Amber and Gene are considered “long range brawlers” because they have average range, and they fair best at mid range combat. At a long range, it’s just too difficult to hit their shots (apart from Gene) and hard to deal consistent damage

Yeah I was thinking the same, based on my personal experience although they do have a relevant range, their play style are nothing alike with those of the traditional long range brawlers like piper/byron.

Tip for Sam : when you're about to die, use your super, in any way possible, because you'll have it anyways once respawning

Walls are gonna be Sam's friend, he can also recycle it to reload twice as fast and immediately pick it back up for the bear trap basic attacks if the enemy isn't dead yet. He can also heal decently so you practically have an undying brawler if there's a wall. But he's pretty hard to measure because of his sad range.

To better modelize the reality of the interactions in the game, you could rather replace the single 1:1 close range interaction with three interactions: 1:1 close range with wall, 1:1 close range without wall, and 1:1 long range. And probably explore without super and gadget, with super only, with both super and gadget. Though that makes the review more extensive, but I think exploring at least the first dimension with the « without super and gadget » point of the 2nd dimension would make much better sense ! Just an idea ahah, maybe you could explore only 1 point of the first dimension per brawler if there is no need to explore the other points (but I am thinking of assassins or throwers that can be playable on several points of this 1st dimension)

Sam has a blind spot in his punches, just in the center, and you feel it the most when you 1v1 someone, you usually just land 1 of both punches. Because of this blind spot, you can't normally hit your opponent while running away

I think his super absolutely needs a slow, as only damage and literally crippling yourself without your weapons it's such a counter intuitive ability

A week ago, i had 133 gems, all got free to play, one day later a offer popped in my shop on brawl stars, it was 2 mega boxes for 119 gems, I showed my brother and he buyed it, and I started crying because I worked 5 months for that gems and I was planning to buy the Sam brawl pass 😭 my brother even laughed infront of me because he used my gems and bought the offer, :( I didn't get any brawler from the 2 mega boxes and, of course I used code lex when I buyed that offer with 119 gems I dont know if it helps to your channel but i hope, lex is my favourite youtuber I watch him always, and I like so much when he plays with tilly :) everytime when I watch his videos he makes me happy. It's like saying Nita is a tank because she has a star power that heals her, or saying Poco is a tank because he can heal alot. Just dosent make sense to me.

i have noticed that when sam calls his super back he it charges his super when hitting enemies and i wonder what would happen if you use your super when the knucklebusters are coming back to you. also the 2. star power can be used to scout bushes by that i mean if your super charges youll notice that there is an enemy.

The fact that each individual ability is similar to others already existing from other 4 different characters doesn't deny the fact that this specific combination of abilities makes him a new unique character. You can't expect to not find similarities between existing brawlers when you are almost at 60 characters, in fact, if we think that way, NONE of the existing brawlers are original in any way, as "champion themed" videogames as MOBAS and Hero-Shooters have been existing looooong before Brawl Stars, and all of them have docens, even hundred of ideas, mechanics or abilities that were already used before Brawl Stars...

every brawler has aspects of one or more brawlers in some way, the combinations resulting in different playstyles is what makes the brawlers unique compared to the other brawlers that's why the playstyle of El Primo (main attack: punch, super: jump) is different from the playstyle of Edgar (main attack: punch, super:jump)
