This really shows that Sam actually cares for Freddie, kinda a lil parallel to the episode with Missy when Freddie got rid of her for Sam. Sam doesn’t really deserve him after all that abuse she put him through, however at least we know that they truly care about one another. Me: still in my camp going they actually worked as a couple, doesn’t eliminate the damage but they functioned and grew together until the one episode Carly got uncomfortable and the show runners clearly wanted things to go back to normal and so they broke up….only to pine and get back together. Their rushed breakup and them working is literally the reason I’m not jumping at Creddie. Plus to some extent Carly was spoiled and the show shot itself in the foot letting their chemistry sizzle out to nada. Like 💩 got dry and stayed that way.

Yesss, exactly! I hate reboots for this reason, they always seem so unauthentic and unfitting for the original, true timeline. They just seem to target a newer audience. They just completely dismiss Sam & Freddie’s actual real love in the original show. A girl would never date nevertheless fall in love with her best friend’s first love/“the only boy she’s ever loved”!!! And the reboot has a whole different tone to it too.
