This is my favorite version of Max. He's soft spoken, yet everything he says is casually psychotic. He seems like a tagalong funny man, but everything he does is outrageously violent. He's cartoonishly mean (especially to people who aren't Sam) and still hilarious, all with the smoothest and softest New York accent. He's perfect! I adore him.

Did you know that he’s voiced by the guy that played Russian President Yuri Suvarav on 24?

@@GIRLFR3AK ok so basically Steve Purcell's brother used to draw a picture of a Dog and Rabbit as police. However, Steve would find these and draw a textbox saying something vulgar or violent. So Sam and Max is just someone mocking their Brothers drawing

@@GIRLFR3AK to go into more depth, steve's brother never finished the comics, so he gave it his own crude spin just to get a kick out of him. later, his brother caved and gave him rights to sam and max, and the rest was history. If you want to find the interview itself it was part of a video named "The History of San and Max" that was made to promote game "San and Max and the Devil's Playhouse". Maybe you can find it here on KZbin. This was also mentioned in several interviews, but you get the whole story in that video.

1:21:01 I find it a little interesting how Max asks "Is it soup yet?" here. Why? Consider that Bill Farmer does the voice of Sam first. Now take into consideration how in 'A Goofy Movie' years later, Bill Farmer plays Goofy, whose character is once again accompanied by someone named Max...who asks the exact same thing when they spend the night locked in their car. *_While being stalked by Bigfoot._*

I've never played this game but I saw it on Game Grumps recently and the aesthetics of the background cells and the MIDI renditions of jazz numbers give it a highly nostalgic vibe to me. It definitely reminds me of games like Ren & Stimpy: Stimpy's Invention and Animaniacs on the Genesis, plus stuff on the PC like Spider-Man Cartoon Maker and even SimCity 2000. Just feels like an awesome way to cozy up on a random rainy Sunday afternoon in 1994.

There's already some HD Sam and Max games. The meticulous animated pixel art is a work of art in of itself. This would look a lot better without upscale blur on an original CRT monitor. I think it's better to rerelease a version with a a blur option and a CRT mask function like Sonic Mania. Yeah, just some options and cut out the load times. That's all I would need to drop money on it.
