I really like Tory and her story. But if she digs in with cobra Kai and sticks with them to the finals. The best option would be for her to lose. One of chozen’s lessons to Sam in season 5 episode 8 would be to fight for, not against. If this fight happens and Sam wins, it would be FOR Tory, not against her. It would show her that she made a bad choice and has a true family in miyagi do.

Exactly and That's why I think it's a very plausible theory that could potentially happen along with CKW'S theory on Sam giving Tory all of her share of what she gets if she does win: Money for college, Sponsorship money & whatever else the team captains get when they win because Sam doesn't need any of that stuff because all of those doors are already open for her anyway & also if Tory decides to rejoin Miyagi Do Sam could also step down as team captain as well after the Seiki Taiki is over and give the position to Tory.

This is a hot take but if Sam's motivation is just fighting for her dojo and for pure competitive sport, doing her best/ proving herself, i find that refreshing tbh . It's just pure and for the right reasons, there's no melodrama behind it unlike the others who do it like their future depend on it or for fame. This could still change during the second part if her motivation will be that she is gonna try to get Tory back as you said!
