Sam Bush and David Grisman April 25, 2013 at The Hamilton Live

Sam Bush played The Hamilton's Bluegrass Festival in late April 2013. John Sebastian and David Grisman stopped by to see the show. Eventually, The Dawg had to sit in. Note: John's wife Catherine was also there and shot the picture of Levin Helm in The Hamilton Live.

I love how they are subtly, but clearly having a little beef with each other...and it plays out in a bit of competitive back and forth solos...but they put on a hell of a show and part ways giving each other their dues. Not sure if the issue was a debate over who and when wrote the song as apposed to where credit was given or taken....or if it was the im old but not that old comment that set the pace? Who knows obviously these guys have shared a stage many times over the years...could be anything!

Why doesnt the camera show the guitar solo?

Thestopandchat I’m with you, and what about the guitar picker? We do get a wide shot for a few seconds, but no close ups. Sam tells who they are in name (3), when the song is over, so I suppose the third is drummer? But, there should have been a close up of banjo & guitar while they were playing! And Sam had never played an f-5?
