Hi...Nov end will be good time to visit. Normally all Camps stays includes Jeep & Camel Safari in Stay cost only. Actually we travelled by our own car so I wont have idea on cost to Sam desert from city. Its half an hour drive. But I would suggest you to stay in desert for one night only. Rest you can stay in Jaisalmer.

They charge around 2000 per person for pick up and drop from city, Camel Safari, Jeep Safari, Cultural program, Welcome snacks and Dinner. It was definitely worth it. It is about 40-50 kms from Jaisalmer city. Let me know if you have any questions.

No you should not visit in May. Also all tent Camps are closed in Sam Desert as it becomes very Hot. You can however visit Udaipur the only place which has decent greenery though it will be also hot...
