I always felt that Elizabeth Montgomery was such a very pretty lady. She did wonders with this role. She showed that witches aren’t always ugly hags with warts. This role is the role for which Ms. Montgomery will be best remembered. Nothing wrong with that at all! Peace.

I loved this show in the 70's and still love it today. I have the series on dvd and watch it all the time. Darrin and Samantha tried so hard to make their marriage work despite BOTH of their mothers interfering and all of the other shenanigans going on in that house. I always thought Darrin was amazing for not having users or a nervous breakdown with people popping in and out not to mention them changing him into an ape etc. Great acting.❤

I couldn't keep my eyes off of Larry's tweed jacket. Notice how it appears and disappears at the barbecue.

First episode: Samantha vs. Sheila part 2 (part 1 was episode 1 first season). Don't mess with Samantha. She has very interesting ways of getting even. Second episode: I may not like Darrin always telling Samantha not to use her witchcraft but at least he wasn't a man who could be bought. He had his principles. He wouldn't have put up with his future daddy in law giving him everything on a silver platter. He wanted to earn it himself.

Yeah, Sam was a good person, a good witch, and if you love someone you should love all of them so I feel the same about that. I was just a little girl watching this show, sometimes at my grandmas in the 70s, good memories. Darren was a good guy except for the wanting her never to use witchcraft thing. He was honorable. I also loved Dick York as Darren. I always felt the love and the joyous silliness between them. Part of it was, I've read, he really did find Elizabeth atrractive and it made her uncomfortable. Probably every man she met fell a little in love with her. Yet, the second Darren always just seemed so angry at Sam. I wish they hadn't pushed Dick York out after her fell off that roof during filming. His back was in bad shape but I wish they'd of worked around it. He was a nice guy buy all accounts. It really destroyed his life after that. Agnes Morehead was really angry about that as they were good friends.

@@carolynm8421 I recently learned about Dick York's crush on Elizabeth Montgomery but as she was married there was not much he could do about it. The second Darrin was gay in real life so he didn't have a crush on her. I loved Agnes Morehead as Endora. She's one of my favorite characters along with Maurice.

I love how Samantha meets Sheila for the first time & Samantha can see that Darrin's ex girlfriend is nothing but a snob & I like that Samantha uses her powers to Embarrass Sheila twice in bewitched season 1 & 4 & I'm glad Samantha realizes that Darrin wouldn't be happy if he had never met Samantha at all in bewitched season 4

Shelia is lifted from the rival fiancee in Bell Book and Candle. In that the two women were in college together and hated each other.

Darrin's out-of-control ego and borderline pathological need to do everything himself, was the cause of 99% of the strife/dissension/disagreements on the show. They did at least two episodes about that too: where if he'd just let go, and realize that he could never be as in-control as he wished, his entire family would have harmony, and he'd still achieve anything he wanted. But he couldn't. His ego was his worst enemy.
