There is nothing like Sam Elliott no one has his rugged voice and his tone. It's like when he speaks to you he commands everyone's attention. His voice has authority. His voice has wisdom and humility and humbleness. There's nothing like a rugged character of Sam Elliott a rugged cowboy Born and raised on a farm and he still lives on a farm on top of that he has other houses. I can't believe Sam Elliott's 80 years old he doesn't look 80 he looks about 70 years old. I just don't want to think about Sam Elliott getting older because life is so precious we're here one minute and gone the next. Life is like a vapor. Life is like a candle you light it and is bright for a minute but all of a sudden the candle is gone. So remember what Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior says to love your neighbor as yourself and to look out for that person more valuable than myself or yourself. When I was a kid I got to meet Sam before he was really famous because my father produced the 1976 film "Lifeguard" and it was Sam Elliott's first starring role (if you don't count FROGS) we got to know him a little and till this day I will tell you he gives one of the most natural performances you will ever seen in Lifeguard. If you haven't seen it try and find it.

It's good to know Sam Elliott was living in the down low, but it's also good for him to be able to break the silence. I mean, he was remaining silent, because he shared his opinion on a movie he didn't like. If no one wants the truth, don't ask for it. Even when he apologies, there's one person standing up for him and that'd be faith Hill. I believe Tim McGraw was standing up for him to. Don't ever ask an actor about another movie if he's gonna say he disliked it. Here's to Sam Elliott and as for the ones who like to be negative, leave him alone. If you ain't a western fan or a Sam Elliott supporter, go elsewhere. Don't hold no judgement for him. We're all sinners. Only the Lord Almighty can judge us.

@@Tomcruise943 I'm here because of Sam Elliott. I'm a fan of him. I'm a fan of western actors and country singers. The way the world is shaping, it's pushing most of em out of the business. The more modern this world gets, the more people lose sense about tradition. I don't know you from any of my favorite westerns or civil war movie, but I know about Sam Elliott's roles. He was a civil war soldier general Meade in the movie Gettysburg, Virgil Earp in the movie tombstone, Wild Bill Hickok in the Buffalo gals series, he was in a western about a cattleman alias Conagher, Tom Selleck played with him as a Yankee in the civil war while he played a rebel, they also played as honorable opportunists in the western series the sackets, Sam Elliott played in ghost rider with Nicholas cage as an old lawman turned undertaker, 1883, he plays plenty good vintage style movies. What I hate at the same rate as people trying to accuse Morgan Wallen as a racist is Sam Elliott being asked if he liked the power of the dog movie and was told to take it back. Sam Elliott is an honorable man in a world that likes to use loopholes.

@@Tomcruise943 there's one western/civil war movie you played in. Jesse James. It's a little comedic for my taste. By all accounts in the civil war, the James and youngers we're riding with Captain Anderson and Quantrill. Some witnesses said that they were vicious killers. Serious people. They probably were rarely funny. They probably liked reading the newspapers, but they were on a vendetta against Pinkerton's and all the Yankees that robbed him of a little brother, torture of his mother and father. They were even after the men who killed there leaders in the confederacy. I don't think that's something that can't and shouldn't be mocked. I believe Sam Elliott remained serious in all westerns and civil war films.

Love the guy and 1883 is a jewell. IMHO mini series are the best format. Most of the multi-season tv shows decline in quality sooner or later. One of the reasons is that the ending is not defined and the production just follows profitability. There are exceptions.

Well Wyatt Earp, tombstone and 1883 were pretty good but Yellowstone took it a little too far and a little too dramatic which I think why Kevin Costner basically said uh-uh I ain't into this anymore.
