Big appreciation goes to this person recording this and not ruining it by singing along 👍

Interesting fact: Bruce Springsteen wrote and recorded the album 'Born In The USA' and gave it to the record company, they said it was great 'but we need a really commercial song that can go on the album and also be released as a single'. Bruce said to himself 'Now that I've recorded the album I'm a guy sitting around at home, getting bored with nothing to do - THAT'S what I'll write about!'. This song was what emerged.

Nope, that was told to him by his manager & mastermind Jon Landau. If there wasn't for that man, who knows if we would know the Bruce as we know today ;)
@jeffoliver7491 Жыл бұрын
@@splinband I was always under the impression the record company said that to him. I'm not sure why Jon Landau, his manager, would have said it. It is the record company after all who are assessing what will be the most commercially viable things that will go on the record.
@splinband Жыл бұрын
@@jeffoliver7491 Yea, got your point and it makes sense but don't forget how powerful figure Jon Landau is / was! So even if the record company didn't agree, I am sure Landau would have found the way to mingle his intentions thru and assure the whole company to trust him. I mean, even Bruce told the story in his autobiography that it was Landau who almost forced him to literally lock himself into the hotel room and not to come out until he has that one more missing hit. So he came out with Dancing in the dark :))
@jeffoliver7491 Жыл бұрын
@@splinband That's interesting, I haven't read Bruce's autobiography, I do intend to read it at some point. I've seen Bruce live though, four times, he's an amazing performer. He does a four hour set, as I'm sure you know. These are the longest concerts I've ever heard of - the fans certainly get value!

I have seen Bruce Springsteen 4 times in Philadelphia pa. And this kid is pretty good don't ever stop playing kid. Am from Philly but I now live at the Jersey shore. Sometimes you will see Bruce walking on the boardwalk Wildwood New Jersey. Bruce love's the jersey shore I saw him once just him by himself walking around the Wildwood boardwalk stopping to take pictures. I was completely amazed that he was alone no bodyguards. It made me think about what happened to John Lennon. There's even more crazy people out here now days. But that's THE BOSS like Frank Sinatra always sang I DID IT MY WAY. HE IS ONE OF THE NICEST PEOPLE YOU ARE EVER GOING TO MEET.
