As a music lover on the wrong side of 30... i'm finding it harder and harder to get excited by new bands/artists, but this guy gets me excited in a way that takes me back to being a teenager again. It's great to see that in 2019 there's still room for great honest indie/rock/guitar music.

There’s so much out there. I’m not sure what you see in this guy, he’s just Bruce Springsteen but English. He’s not doing anything new. He’s good yes but evoking a nostalgic feeling isn’t the goal of new artists. You aren’t going to find that anywhere unless you are listening to bands who are purposely evoking older music - The 1975, M83 throwback to 80s pop, and Sam Fender, heartland rock.
@ronaldcox33695 жыл бұрын
@@musicalman1995 Hey! I appreciate your comment, but ultimately music is a subjective experience and i'm just giving how i felt listening to Sam Fender for the first time. I never said that there wasn't any new music out there in the current day, just that i'm not particularly excited by what is out there right now. That may be because music has moved on from what got me excited as a teenager, which is ultimately what i still love now, guitars at the forefront and honest songwriting. But everyone has a different relationship with music, and i'm glad that's the case since it's that subjectivity that makes it so interesting!
@catsdogs68135 жыл бұрын
@@ronaldcox3369 So true. Bang on in fact. Have been following him for ages and..to compare him to Springsteen is just lazy. He's so much more than that. No music is ever truly new because everyone is influenced. Hope the media machine doesn't swallow him up and spit him out and that good people are looking after him.

Tinker Tailor I get what you mean I definitely prefer ‘real music’ to some stuff out nowadays but all music is ‘real’ and all music is subjectively, in its own right, good or bad. So can’t really just say that as music is different now to 30 yrs ago or whatever it isn’t as good or that it isn’t ‘real’
