KZbin has a backlog of comments I "haven't responded to". So, I'm going back and responding, even if it's just to say thank you for helping out with channel engagement.

Sam was always so open and honest when sharing their story and the heartache they felt at the prospect of H not being old enough to remember them. It has been such an honour to be a part of their life even if that was online and never getting to meet them in person. I spoke to Sam about my own experience of having a very young son and my spouse being diagnosed with terminal cancer. Like they said in this podcast this diagnosis can be harder on those left behind. My husband was given months even with chemo. He was not expected to see his child being born but he was right there with me in the Labour ward and got to meet his son. Sonographers had taken a scan photo and put it in an envelope with the sex of the baby to be opened if my husband wasn’t going to survive long enough. I had a further 5 months with my husband and like Sam we concentrated on quality of time together not quantity because the cancer meant he couldn’t do all the things he wanted to do as a dad. Sam showed sheer determination to go through all the invasive treatments and with all that was going on for them they still had a passion for social justice, they had an amazing and inquiring mind and I’m sure their values will have been passed on to H, just seeing Sam’s posts it was clear that H has a vivid imagination and quirky sense of humour and that like Sam he is going to grow up caring about others. As an atheist, facing death without the comfort of imagining an afterlife where we will get to meet our loved ones again but I like to listen to Carl Sagan talk about us all coming from star stuff and I like to think the energy that makes people so individual is still there all around us in our vast universe. I will miss Sam intensely and my deepest sympathy goes out to everyone that loved them.
