This is the way it's supposed to be sung.. He had to reach up and pull this out of the air.. that is amazing! Sam you got it going on! People that say this ain't country better get them dusty 8 tracks out and listen and re-live cause the "new country" is here and I love it.. I do love the old stuff I grew up on and I am a little older, but some won't sing along to this cause they are mad at the industry..I wish people would open their minds and know that there can be BOTH styles.. Not just talking about this song.. Sam's "Raised on it" is a great example.. Great country lyric writing..images galore and cool vibe.. No it's not been done before in Country, but remember... When Garth Brooks started doing what he was doing...people were saying the same thing... When Hank Jr. was doing what he was doing people were saying his daddy is rolling over in his grave. I agree as well....thanks Curtis Collins! I'm so glad that I have an open mind when it comes to music. I can't imagine all the awesome music that I would miss out on if I had to categorize every artist and song and only listen to what some consider as country music! Is there even a definition of what country music should sound like? I too grew up listening to classic country music and love all of those old songs and artists but there is nothing constant in life but change:) Country music has changed and so has rock, R & B etc. Over the past few months I have heard people raving about this new artist, Sam Hunt. My husband got Montevallo for Christmas and I finally listened to the album and was blown away. Now I know what the big fuss was about and I am now a HUGE Sam Hunt fan! He is an awesome writer/singer and I can't get enough of him! Hoping to see him this summer when he's touring with Lady A and Hunter Hayes:) Keep'em coming Sam Hunt.....you are amazing!

New country is all pop. Take a look at Taylor Swift. She was a country artist, turned pop because only pop radio stations would play her. Sam Hunt never has been, and never will be, true country. True country is Cash, Brooks, Dunn, Strait, Jake Owen, Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Cole Swindell, and so many other older artists

Billys version has a better tune to it to make you want to ride a back road windows down, this though my opinion is better. Sam has an amazing voice reaching out in the lyrics especially in the chorus. This is more backwoods bonfire with friends music and I love it
