A good one!! I have mixed feelings about this though!! 😀 The Jaisalmer camp was where I learnt every cuss word in the Dictionary ( there were a few sloshed guys in the next tent and they spent the whole night swearing 🤣… only sometimes the head drunk sobered up enough to scream “ QUIET! THERE IS A FAMILY NEXT DOOR” and those screams in a stupor was loud enough to rouse Kumbhakarna!! Souren dropped his wallet here with all his cards and money.. its still lying there somewhere, buried in sand !! 🤣

Totally agree! And that’s exactly the duality of the commercial side of Thar that I wanted to portray. It was a morning like any other mornings, yet ‘perfect’ amongst all mornings - because the beauty was not ‘off the roof’ but ‘off the freakin’ roof’ 😉 - the skies had excellent pastel shades all across! Let’s keep travel real! ✌🏽

@@MilesOnRubber - Yes !! These experiences are what make travel .. well .. travel!! 😊 We didn’t see the shades of sunrise though .. there was a mild sandstorm and rains in the morning.. a dull, dusky desert with the sand rising in a whirl in the distance!! It was so beautiful… But speaking about the commercial side … we saw a very exploitative side in the desert… the women walk kilometers barefoot to the sand dunes , some with little children .. every single day to earn whatever little they can by showcasing some dance moves, taking some photos .. and in every step they have to fight humiliation, disrespect, obscene advances from tourists, locals, the shack owners, the Camel herders… We could do nothing!! 😢

Thanks for sharing these nuances. It really helps me get another perspective. I so wish to visit this landscape during the summers to experience what a hot desert really means. I think, at times we need to get down from our high horses to understand and experience this place, thru the lens of the inhabitants of these borderlands.

Happy to see u back in this vlog; just after seeing your last vlog of reaching munabao; we got excited to experience the same and we did it… also stuck in sands in sundara … but really we were aware about the fact that we will face that challenge…just as u experienced.. thanks
