Thank you for making this available. The video clip of Sam playing this in the NYC Subway (and a certain Aya Ceremony) are the reasons that upon returning to the states from Guatemala I immediately purchased my first handpan and set out on this journey. I started with an Axiom S.S. C# minor celtic and have added a Hamsa E laLaBye. Sylvain is my procurement mentor and I am slowly feeling my way along the path. Viola Rose in Portland Oregon is my mentor and patient maestra. Much thanks to Davis C.'s community for the support.

Thanks Douglas! I’m friends with the makers at Axiom and Hamsa. Jacob and Stevan do great work. I recently raffled an Axiom E Equinox with the release of my new album as well. I also worked with David C on the Healing Handpan Alliance albums. Their albums are free to stream and download on band camp. Check them out!

Would you consider doing a tutorial for Sam Maher’s Heirloom? It’s my favourite song, love it so much and planning to try to teach myself
@SonicStillness4 жыл бұрын
I love that song & it’s featured on one of the Healing Handpan Alliance albums I produced. Unfortunately I don’t have the same handpan(s) Sam uses for that song. Thanks for your request though!

Hey Very good tutorial and probably the best I found ! Unfortunately, even when I slow down the video, it is still very difficult to known exactly which note you are using Especially for the ding part. :/
@mattnobrega66212 жыл бұрын
Looks good. Whenever I try to do a groove like that I freeze Andy wires get crossed and it becomes a disappointing mess then I lose interest and put it away until I feel like picking it back up again. It doesn't help that I got sensitive neighbors in my apartment building 😒
@Panter03894 жыл бұрын
It would be awesome to write it down in a sheet, cause it's extremely difficult to understand witch notes you are playing even in slower speed 😢
@Roshan-eu7mk2 жыл бұрын
Just slow down the video speed

Hi! Lovely song and great skills. What handpan marker is this pan made by? Thank you
@SonicStillness4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! This was a TerraPan made by TerraTonz I was recording for this studio session. They’re no longer making instruments but any maker can make this scale (C# Annaziska).

Who is the manufacture of the the pan you are playing? Thank you for sharing!

This was a TerraPan I was recording in this studio session. They’re no longer producing instruments. Any maker can produce this scale for you. Shop locally and ask for C# Annaziska. ; )

I see you saying its a C# Aeolian, I am having a Handpan made for me because of the sound I heard from Sam Maher playing this song but the one who is making it for says its C# Annaziska. is it going to sound the same?
@SonicStillness4 жыл бұрын
Yes! Annaziska is a name used for this handpan scale, which, like Aeolian, is based on the natural minor scale. The name is used to distinguish it from other scales based on the minor scale, like D Celtic Minor.

This is good also to kurd handpan?

Kurd is a minor scale like this one, but not all minor instruments will have the correct notes to play this song.

Thank you for your attempt to share this song, which is beautiful.....but too bad...........you're playing much too fast for anyones eyes to follow your hands and fingers.. so , it's not really very helpful.

try slowing down your playback speed in the settings 0.75 hope this helps
