Another of my favorites scenes from the tv series: The Newsreader.
Sam Reid not only convince you of the part he is playing but is capable of making you feel everysingle emotion he is experiencing like the Freaking Brilliant Actor that he is!!!

When I saw this scene I was heartbroken and so happy at the same time. The way she accepted him. Sharing her own trauma and following it up with "I'll be right there beside you" and "I love you just the way that you are." 😭 I don't think I've ever seen a more emotionally beautiful scene. And Sam... I mean wow Wow WOW. Exceptional acting. Truly beyond compare.

Oh my god, I knew he was brilliant as Lestat but this is next level acting. Not every actor can cry this convincingly and heartbreakingly on command, some are downright bad at it... but he excells and burns through the screen in a way I've seen few actors do. If he is this in tune with himself and his craft that he can bring emotion like that to the surface as soon as they yell action, there's no limit to what he can do.

He is so beautiful in his vulnerability and she treats him with the greatest compassion and tenderness; in the live news broadcast they do a few moments later they project so much grace and dignity!

I think this scene makes people cry, and lgbtq people cry even more. To be heard, accepted, and loved just "like you are" it's one of the few things in this world that each and every one of us want to hear. You are loved and accepted y'all, remember that!

@@karenhenry1233 Sam alternates filming his 2 series. Both went on to a 2nd series (which is probably unusual but lucky for him) so he completes 1 series and goes onto the next. Series 3 of The Newsreader has been approved for funding and so he will film that, presumably in 2024. I hope you watched S2 of The Newsreader. I loved it 🥰

I'm totally in love with Helen and I want her to be happy! I hope she and Dale end up together. Maybe hes bi and he just feels his emotions for men so strongly because he's denied himself that side so far? I think they are soul mates in the best friends sense, but they both deserve the kind of love that also ignites sexual passion - the kind of passion he could not repress when he was with Tim, no matter how briefly. Whatever his identity - gay, bi, demisexual (what does that even mean, since "demi" means half in French), hope S3 will find Dale - finally - accepts himself for who he is and allows himself to love and live freely. Fully.

Australia has many great actors and actresses... I always thought that American actors/actresses were overrated, well Sam Reid proves that it's so right. They did not use terms like GAY in those days. Queer was the word they used. I am bisexual myself and funnily enough no one seems to know whether Sam is straight, bi, or gay. He is a very private person and that is fine with me.

Sam finished filming Series 2 about 2months ago. It will be released in the first half of next year in Australia. I don’t know about other countries. But I think with the success of IWTV, other countries will air it quickly after its Australian ABC run.
