The first time I heard this song, it was at a live performance in Portland, Oregon. Sam was opening for Alex Goot. As much as I loved seeing Alex on stage, I definitely think Sam's energy stole the show. Back to this song, though, the day I heard it, I had also found out that my grandmother had passed away. I remember tearing up when I heard him sing it, and I think it was that which cemented my decision to buy his album after the show. Today is the six month anniversary of my father's death, and this song reminds me of him now as well. I think daddy would have loved Sam's music. RIP Daddy, I miss you.

She hears an amazing voice and an equally amazing song. She looked at the title and the artist and committed it to memory.
