@@georgemitchel23 Of course he chose correctly. Sam selfless and gave his best despite his limitations. Steve chose Sam- for all the same reasons that Doctor Erskine chose Steve. Sam wasn't as powerful as Peter Parker, he wasn't as experienced as Bucky or as smart as Banner. Sam had spirit and enough of it to carry the shield. In the end I think Sam's doubts of the title and the shield were outweighed by his confidence in Steve. Sam trusted Steve and knew that Steve would never have given it to him if Sam wasn't capable of doing the job. "Ill do my best" "I know you will- that's why its yours"

I can't believe how well the transition from Steve to Sam turned out to be. At first I was confused, I truly thought that Bucky was gonna be Steve's successor. But this show proved me wrong and I'm glad I was. Steve gave the shield to Sam because he knew that in the end he was a good person, willing to sacrifice himself for others and prove wrong to people who hated the fact that he was gonna be the next Captain America. The way he said "every time I pick the shield up I know a lot of people are gonna hate me for it" is truly powerful, not only because he knows deep down that most of us probably wanted Bucky instead of him, but also because he's a black soldier holding the star and stripes shield, and that was amazing. This show gave more spotlight to two characters I really liked and now love. Sam Wilson, it's my honor and pleasure to call you Captain America.

I mean I like the fact that Sam got the mantle cause he does end up being cap after all but I do hate the fact that the mcu skimmed over Bucky’s run at the mantle. In the comics, it not only provides a great character development for Bucky but also added something to cap’s character traits. See Steve brought the morality of cap, as in just do the right thing. But Bucky, Bucky brought with it redemption. Cause Bucky is the one who showed readers that no matter who wears the suit of cap, there will be times where they are wrong whether it be in past deeds or cure actions but Bucky showed that redemption is never too far out of reach. And Sam brings the simple power of belief, that an ordinary man with enough determination and grit, can change the world.

Marvel have gotten so good at this. I detested the first Captain America movie and loved winter soldier which is still my favourite MCU movie. But this made me feel all sorts of emotions. Marvel I salute you 👍
