Sylvian's intent for commisioning the documentary was to formally introduce a few of the highly intelligent musicians working in the field of electro-acoustic improvisation who assisted in creating the foundation for Manafon. What one learns is their methods, processes and backgrounds. Not only is the DVD enjoyable, it is extremely interesting and informative. Sylvian's appearance was not necessary, as this is about the histories and philosophies of these particular musicians - not Manafon.
