I was very recently introduced to this series and I am absolutely loving it! Seth's presence is making some of the spirits upset, they kept repeting "Borden" and "awful" probably referring to his ancentrals, maybe even in sort of a reticent way, maybe thinking he could be as awful, and the "i'm watching", "leave", the fact that he was the only one that could see the face, those, to me, were signs that he was the target of the conversation, it seems almost like they were trying to scare him, make him leave. Also I think the spirt that was asking them to play music was not the same one that called them to the hallway, the energy felt different, more agressive, less inviting.

okay, it’s crazy that they said they smelt lilacs in sarah’s room. it makes me think about the story “The Telltale Lilac Bush” by Ruth Ann Musick about a wife that went missing and the husband was thought to have murdered her. her body was discovered when a lilac bush began swaying back and forth vigorously and when they dug up the lilac bush, the roots were growing from her hands. it’s almost like sarah is using lilacs just like the woman in the telltale was to let people know that her husband did in fact murder her.
