New Jersey has a ton of abandoned/(supposedly) haunted areas which are great for explorers. One of my favorite places I’ve been is the Devil’s Tree. It is very well known down here and gives off a very eerie vibe once approaching it. We went in the winter and within a 10 foot distance around the tree, the ground was bone dry whilst everything around it was snow covered. Whoever is reading this comment, I really recommend searching up a book called “Weird N.J.” to find the best places and make sure to do some research if planning to explore. ^^

Here in New Jersey there are a lot of creepy places. There are a few in my town but I picked this one to share.(I’m not an idiot it’s not in my town) shippen manor. It was built in 1760 and has some things disappearing off shelves, doors opening and closing on their own, and some ghosts sightings. Another haunted place is called the devils tree on Mountain Road in Bernards Township. Locals say the tree is cursed. The story is that a farmer killed his wife and children then hung him self on the tree. Legend says that anyone who cuts down the tree will come to an untimely end. There are also a few haunted asylums but it is under security and say that if you go on the grounds you can get arrested and prosecuted and I DO NOT want that to happen so just look up Essex county Hospital. Please like this so they can see it!

Just a little info on the “Bethany House” it was never actually called the Bethany House it’s actual name is The Bethlehem House, it was neither a hospital or an asylum, it was a place for homeless, abused, and battered women and children and it was ran by catholic nuns. It was also used as an orphanage and every child and woman who entered had assigned jobs. The room with all the pipes was a kitchen where the children would do their job of food service. It was used for the abused and they did have an area where they would do hospital care, but it was mostly used as shelter and prayer. It was since then abandoned. I was interested in what it looked like back in the day so I dug deeper into the research on the place. Bethany House was a term urban explorers deemed it because they didn’t like how long Bethlehem sounded

slimez,squishies and all of the above I started by looking up Bethany House San Bernardino before and after and happened upon an urban explorers page that had pictures of it title Bethlehem House East Highland and then searched that and all of the pictures of “the Bethany House” popped up as well as a bunch of newspaper articles on it. Started reading into it a little more. I’m big on unraveling the truth of abandoned/haunted locations before dubbing them as haunted. I like to know the history and get an idea of what it may have looked like before hand.

My old house was "haunted". We saw people walking past the window, my mum was like oh the delivery person is here, go open the door but I was thinking wait no, something isn't right why was she all white, not skin white, just plain white like a paper cutout. So I waited for a knock but it never came. Also there was a knock on the back door when it was just me and my mum home alone and I thought, that's weird. The back gate is bolted shut and if they went the other way we would've heard the old squeaky gate open and them running on the pebbles. Also when that stuff started happening we got a camera to put on top of garage and we caught our neighbour ON OUR DRIVE LOOKING THROUGH WINDOWS AT LIKE 2 OR 3 IN THE MORNING. We went over to her house and asked why were you on our drive last night, did you need something? But she said she wasn't and didn't recall going there. So we asked her carer and she said no she was at home the whole night. (Sad story but her 12 yr old son can't live with her and got taken away to his sisters house and she thinks her son is going to come back. She said why don't you help me decorate the garage, I'm turning it into a playroom as a gift for my son when he comes back.) Also heard child voices shout MUMMY when me and my sister where asleep. Also I'm scared of the dark and I was having a shower and a little shadow like child ran up to the light switch and TURNED OFF THE LIGHT WHILE I WAS SHOWERING, it looked too tall to be my sister but too short to be my brother. My brother also saw a woman walk along the top of the stairs and just dissappear into thin air. It's a pretty unsettling house in my opinion because the windows were painted red. I don't live there anymore, the landlord lied to us and said oh were never selling the house, stay as long as you want and then kicked us out a few months ago. They were pushy as hell, they kept asking when are you leaving and there's a tiny smudge on the wall, you need to clean that before you go. They also told us to buy a dog.
