My dads whole family are from Manchester and they all sound like little girl - it’s why I love that video so much! Honestly, for such a small country, there are so many regional accents

Was it Brazilian portuguese or from Portugal? Bc I know they're different but I don't know either well enough to know the difference
@170811112 жыл бұрын
It’s hard to tell because it’s just an accent, I would guess Brazilian because of the American pronunciation of the words, as far as I know in Europe they learn more of an England accent. But I’m not sure
@book_addict98262 жыл бұрын
@@ginime_ i think it was portuguese because from what i know of brazilian portuguese the accent is stronger than portuguese portuguese. idk i do know that this sounds portuguese portuguese

I'm so proud cause I got the second one right! I do speech and one of the schools we compete against has a few students with Chinese accents so I've spent a whole season listening to that accent and when I heard the man I was like... That sounds a lot like Ryan and Steven. Chinese? And honestly upon hearing you talk about the clues I would say what made me think that is the 'and producer'. It's not even fully the accent, it's the dialect, if that makes sense

this was so funny... also never would've guessed the swahili or portuguese accents,, i wasn't even in the right continent for some lmao

I find it funny that Americans don’t realise there are hundreds of English accents and not everyone who doesn’t have a posh accent is Scottish/Irish/welsh. And also when Americans associate England with being “Britain” as if Scotland and Ireland aren’t a part of that (I know Northern Ireland isn’t)

1. French - Correct 2. Israeli? Russian? I don't know. - Wrong 3. Swahili - Yes! I knew it! 4. German? - Nope 5. Now this is definitely German - I was right 6. This sounds really Northern England. - I got it down. (I'm from the UK so that might count as cheating.) 7. Scottish - Got it. (I am half Scottish again so don't know if that's cheating.) 8. WTF?! - Yeah, that wasn't the answer. 5 out of 8? 5 out of 7.

It's funny how different people find different accents easier to identify. I'm impressed you got Swahili but I thought German was one of the more obvious.
@madisonm.45352 жыл бұрын
@@victoriaodegaard1 When it was actually German I got it. When it was something else I wasn't sure if it was German or not but I guessed German. I was wrong. When it comes to Swahili I did do some research for costume designs from that region so I know a bit about the culture there and a little about the history. (Okay, I'll admit that I do really deep dives into research when I costume design. Costume design is my life's calling. I get really committed to accuracy and paying tribute to a culture even when it's purely just for inspired costumes that don't need to be super rooted in accuracy.)

where are you from?
@madisonm.45352 жыл бұрын
@@book_addict9826 It's a complicated answer. I am from London originally. That is where I was born. But I moved to the US at 3 years old. I kept my accent for a long time but it has become slightly more American now over the years. It also has a lot of Scottish in it too because I am half Scottish, my mother is from Edinburgh. So it's a weird mix of English, Scottish, and American. No one is truly sure where I am from when I talk to them. I have been labeled as trans Atlantic by some. Others have deemed me as "British?" I've been asked if I was South African. It's an interesting mix of an accent. Edited for mistakes and clairity's sake.
