I was living in Kansas City when Samantha was starting out and I got to jam with her a few times and saw her in concert a bunch of times. Now that I live in Los Angeles, I don't get to see her very often but I have tickets for the Troubadour in October. Looking forward to seeing her again. :-)

growing the Blues means keeping the pure seed alive. She wears enuff hats to supply an entire baseball team on top of that. was not particularly thrilled until this revelation. it's important, bc all too many genre jump then forget all about where they came from. By doing what she's doing is the perfect way to 'wow' varied fans. Then always throw your blues cards in and show them where you came from and that you've no intentions of leaving it behind. When ppl love whatever you're doing is exactly when to show them what you're made of. I've witness it in action on both fronts. Some ppl are funny about the Blues and can show a predetermined bias, but when it's introduced to an already captive audience, many tend to 🤔, then😲, then😃🙌. I'm all in

I think it's great when artists mix it up a bit. I'm still kind of on the fence though, because what I've heard so far is venturing into modern pop composition and I guess my ears are too old to appreciate that. Maybe I need to check out some of her older stuff.
