Hi Curtis appreciate that you’re interested in learning Islam. A practicing muslim would stay away forbidden things like eating pork, alcohol, drugs, parting/bars, fornication, lying, cheating etc. Do’s= believing in one true God and believing all the prophets including Jesus and Muhammad, worshipping God/Allah 5 times a day, giving charity, fasting ramadan, learning the Qur’an, being kind to parents and neighbors, etc and remember it’s isn’t easy to do that all at once but you will do it step by step and your will definitely get used to it and enjoy doing them. Would definitely recommend you to talk to an imam you will find him in any mosque and you can learn something from him.

I’m a recent revert. About half a year in. This video is wonderful but I’m doubting if I have done my shahada correctly. I haven’t finished reading the whole Quran and I don’t have the most knowledge. I had someone help me say the shahada but sometimes I think it felt a bit rushed however I’ve never regretted it and it’s been amazing. Trying to pray 5 times a day and slowly start with the hijab. I think people who just reverted shouldn’t be expected to be perfect from day one. I still find it difficult to pray 5 times a day. But I feel like I’m not a good enough muslim.... sorry I went on a rant but I keep feeling lost.

Notes of Shahada foundation : deceleration of faith 5 pillars of Islam, 9 conditions of shahada: 1. Knowledge = 1 God/Allah 2.Certainty = no doubt in entirety with no exception 3. Acceptance= with heart and action that all parts of Islam 4. submissions = acts of obedience. Praying, hijab, no eyebrow work 5 truthfulness = say it with out pressure and sincerity . 6. If you pray 5 times a day and stay away from haram things and learn the Quran you’re actually good Alhamdulillah. Assalamu alaikum sister, I saw your video last year when I was thinking of converting to Islam. Alhamdulillah I have been Muslim for 1 year now, but I almost didn’t convert because of your video. Your tone was very aggressive especially when it came to talking about the eyebrows. The way you spoke made Islam seem like this impossible thing that I would never be able to commit fully to. Alhamdulillah now after learning so much from excellent teachers and attending wonderful lectures Allah has blessed me with a lot of knowledge . I’m coming to you as a sister who wants the best for the community and not out of a place of malice. When correcting people, giving advice, and dawah it is always important to have a lot of empathy. You don’t know what people have gone through or what state their mind is at the time. If I were a more sensitive person your words would have had a deeper effect on me and I would not be where I am today. In fact your video made me delay my shahada by 2 weeks because of how harsh you were. Again I’m not trying to attack you or come from a place of malice. I know Islam can not be watered down and there are rules and etiquettes that need to be followed. However you cannot expect a convert to change over night. Everyone has their own tests from Allah. Even born Muslims struggle everyday with their own sins. Allah created us as sinners so that we would repent and ask for forgiveness. If we were without sin he would get ride of us and replace us with another of his creations that would. Please remember to be kind and patient with converts because we give up a lot for the sake of Allah and it is not easy. It took 23 years to create the Quran and even the companions of the prophet s.a.w. did not become perfect overnight.

3:36 Hi, a non-Muslim here. I have questions about Islam but I do not remember all of them. What do I do? I know that I notes them down but what if I do not every answer down? What if I cannot get every answer to my question down? Because I did take them down but I took down so many questions and sometimes I jsut repeat them in my notes and/or do not take them down. What if while looking through the questions, I miss one? How do I know if my heart is wavering? What if I have questions but I just tell myself that it is me being confused? How can I be certain? How can I stay so strong? What do I do because I do believe in some aspects of Christianity? Should I try to get rid of any connections with it? If I leave anything behind, can I just say that it was me being confused?

Praise be to God Who lies inside all hidden things, and towards Whom all open things guide. He cannot be seen by the eye of an onlooker, but the eye which does not see Him cannot deny Him while the mind that proves His existence cannot perceive Him. He is so high in sublimity that nothing can be more sublime than He, while in nearness, He is so near that no one can be nearer than He. He is different from everything but not in physical separation. He acts but without connotation of movements and instruments. He sees even when there is none to be looked at from among His creation. He is only One, such that there is none with whom He may keep company or whom He may miss in his absence. Praise be to GOD for Whom one condition does not proceed another so that He may be the First before being the Last or He may be Manifest before being Hidden. Everyone called one (alone) save Him is by virtue of being small (in number); and everyone enjoying honour other than Him is humble. Every powerful person other than Him is weak. Every master (owner) other than Him is slave (owned). Every knower other than Him is seeker of knowledge. Every controller other than Him is sometimes imbued with control and sometimes with disability. Every listener other than Him is deaf to light voices while loud voices make him deaf and distant voices also get away from him. Every onlooker other than Him is blind to hidden colours and delicate bodies. Every manifest thing other than Him is hidden, but every hidden thing other than Him is incapable of becoming manifest. He did not create what He created to fortify His authority nor for fear of the consequences of time, nor to seek help against the attack of an equal or a boastful partner or a hateful opponent. On the other hand all the creatures are reared by him and are His humbled slaves. He is not conditioned in anything so that it be said that He exists therein, nor is He separated from anything so as to be said that He is away from it. Every knower other than HIM IS SEEKER OF KNOWLEDGE. Every controller other than Him is sometimes imbued with control and sometimes with disability. Every listener other than Him is deaf to light voices while loud voices make him deaf and distant voices also get away from him. Every onlooker other than Him is blind to hidden colours and delicate bodies. Every manifest thing other than Him is hidden, but every hidden thing other than Him is incapable of becoming manifest. Unfortunately, I am more discouraged after watching this video. I felt I was ready to take my shahada and move forward. I’ve been married to a Muslim for 17 years and we have raised our kids in Islam. I have spent years waiting for me to have 100% understanding and agreement with everything I’ve learned about the religion. everyone has told me it doesn’t have to be perfect for me to convert. If I believe in the five pillars and can make the statement of shahada that I should do it now and not wait even though I haven’t decided 100% to become hijabi etc. Looking for feedback from any of you. Basically the fourth condition makes me feel like if I convert now it would not be right. Help

Just do it if you belive it , it is always the same trick from devil he always put doubt in non muslim head that will make him delay it , you can do shahdah now and step by step you wear hijab if its hard to you , you can start wearing modest cloth then you will use to it and wearing hijab will be easy for you ,if you need help dont hesitate to ask

The rasul didn’t teach the people all of these requirements when he gave shahada nor did his companions they taught true deen and related it where the person understood the basics. After that began the process of growing in knowledge. That is why Allah says in the Quran they claim to believe but they are only submitting then he declared the true believers by their actions.

All this being said, what would be the status of someone who said their shahada but did not meet some or all of the conditions? Are they Muslim? Should they at some point in their future decide the really believe it would they have to say their shahada again?🌷

Sis I'm not sure if I have heard of 9 conditions before. I know there are 7 and some of the scholars ad an 8th condition. 1) knowledge 2)Certainty 3)Acceptance 4)Submission 5)Truthfulness 6) Sincerity 7)Love & the 8th which some add Is Disbelief in other deities except Allah. Also it Also has pillars: 1st Pillar=Negation لا إله 2nd Pillar=Affirmation إلا الله
