Con solo 23 años, la joven cantante de jazz Samara Joy es la gran triunfadora del Mundo del Jazz en la última gala de los premios Grammy, al haber ganado el premio a la “Mejor artista nueva” del año 2022, y su segundo disco “Linger Awhile” ha ganado también el premio al “Mejor Álbum vocal de jazz”.
Descendiente de una familia de músicos, pues sus abuelos paternos fueron los fundadores del grupo de gospel de Filadelfia The Savettes y su padre toca el bajo como músico profesional, Samara Joy es hoy la gran estrella del Jazz Vocal de su generación; de ella ha dicho la directora de cine Regina King que “es una joven que parece que Sarah Vaughan y Ella Fitzgerald vivan en su cuerpo”.
