സമർഖണ്ഡിലെ മരിച്ചവരുടെ തെരുവ് - ഷാ ഇ സിന്ദാ. Street of the Deads - Shah i Zinda, Samarkand.

പതിനൊന്നാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിലെ ഗുണനിലവാരമുള്ള ടൈൽ കലാസൃഷ്ടികളുള്ള മനോഹരമായ പുരാതന ശവകുടീരം നിറഞ്ഞ ഒരു തെരുവ്.
"ജീവിക്കുന്ന രാജാവ്" എന്നർത്ഥം വരുന്ന ഷാ-ഇ-സിന്ദ എന്ന പേര് പ്രവാചകൻ മുഹമ്മദിന്റെ ബന്ധുവായ ഖുത്താം ഇബ്നു അബ്ബാസ് എന്ന ഇതിഹാസവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. ഏഴാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിലെ അറബ് അധിനിവേശത്തോടെ ഇസ്ലാം പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്നതിനായി അദ്ദേഹം സമർഖണ്ഡിൽ എത്തിയതായിരുന്നു.
ഷാ-ഇ-സിന്ദാ സമുച്ചയം (11 മുതൽ 19 വരെ) നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകളിൽ രൂപീകൃതമായി, ഇപ്പോൾ ഇരുപതിലധികം കെട്ടിടങ്ങൾ ഇതിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു.

The name Shah-i-Zinda means "The living king" is connected with the legend Qutham ibn Abbas, a cousin of Prophet Muhammad, is buried here. He came to Samarkand with the Arab invasion in the 7th century to preach Islam.
