Picked one of these up because it was so inexpensive, I got it for 350 used in mint condition. I wrote it off when it first came off as just another high gain amp and I've always been a fan of cleaner amps. This amp is extremely versatile! Clean it sounds like a Vox, very crisp highs and tight low end with a slightly scooped mid range. Dirty it sounds like a Marshall, I'm very impressed with the versatility and options that come with this amp and the ability to tweak it to be the perfect clean or dirty amp.

I'm glad they added the ability to keep or not keep the internal speaker when connected to a cab externally...that is a great feature..some amps disable the internal when you connect a cab... excellent amp...my favorite that I've bought in a long time.

For anyone wondering if you can gig with this, the answer is a million times yes! It will do any oub gig unmiked and any bigger gig will have a PA. Stop letting people that have to justify thier 100 watt marshall turn you away from the amp. More watts equals more headroom. Next time you go to a local band show and see a dual rec or whatever look at the volume, I gaurentee you it's not past 3 and chances are their tone is crap. Why? Because tube amps were meant to be pushed! And you can push a 15 watt much easier than a 100 watt and your tone will be amazing. It amazes me how people will spend thousands on pedals trying to get the tone of guys that recorded with small combos instead of just using one themselves.
@JG-ux7of5 жыл бұрын
This amp is very loud! As you already mentioned, Tube Amps sound best when cranked and 15 watts Tube will be louder and sound better than 100 watts solid state. I have a Jet City 20 watt combo that struggled but was more than fine when I upgraded the speaker. The Bassbreaker at 15 watts does absolutely fine with the stock speaker.

Are you satisfied with a clean sounds on a clean(first) chanel?
@anthonycashero76053 жыл бұрын
@@bertonedes it's warm sounding. But for the burstbucker pro pups, which can be a bit bright, it's silky. So it works with my humbuckers. But really the 2 structure can be clean with the master up and Pre-amp below break up. It's clear and clean. 15w it's not the same as higher watts. More watts= more headroom. The BB 15w sounds Marshall/Voxish or something. I use 2x12 with it.

I've tried them all, had the 007, great sound, but not quite loud enough, so I brought it back, and waited for the 15, I'm glad I did, it sounds awesome. I accidentally got two shipped to me, I thinking of keeping them both and running them in stereo.

Why doesn't the 18/30 have a built in reverb?
@MEDiumInc8 жыл бұрын
+Sal Scalafani They all have their own niche. the 007 a treble boost. the Bassbreaker 15 has reverb and a bright switch, plus the gain structures. the 18/30 has what looks like a foot switchable attenuator, basically giving you two amps in one under your foot., and the bassbreaker 45 has a dial attenuator to give you 1 to 45 watts of power, plus 2 combinable channels. The reverb on the 15 watt is crap anyways. its digital and very quiet. Get a good pedal.

Jacob Lopez it is if your playing inside of like a medium sized hall or a restaurant or something, but if you plan on like playing. Festival or something probably not, it should be good for everything else though
@firemarshal26295 жыл бұрын
It definitely is. If you're playing anything bigger than a pub gig they'll probably have a PA. I've yet to come across a venue that could fit more that 500 people in it that didn't have a PA and any festival show will definitely have one. Watts doesn't equal volume, it equals headroom.

I am NOT getting these beautiful clean tones out of my brand new Bassbreaker 15. I am only getting this muddy tone, no bright mids or highs. I've tried every setting and ran a loop pedal to break in the speaker but the bright highs and mids are no where. This is a cool video but no matter what clean setting, mid setting or high gain can I get a sound like this video. It's like if someone turned the treble all the way off and the mids. Very frustrating. AND, the effects loop still has the bad hissing sound that so many complained about early on. I thought Fender had resolved that but no...it's on my brand new amp.

RockDrillSuite they running a super expensive mic to capture that sound and warm it up, so you'll never get the same sound as the video without dropping an ass ton on good recording gear... but it should still sound pretty tits. Take it in and have a tech look it over.

Thanks for the reply. I may have received a brand new model with a bad preamp tube, that's the only explanation I can come up with. I ended up returning it and fell in the love with the Marshall DSL40C and now play it every single day. It has beautiful gain and decent cleans even at home levels. It's a beast and the effects loop is awesome. Cheers

@erwin-robinlemonway29408 жыл бұрын
Still way too loud unless you want to play mainly cleans on a very low volume or use dist. Pedals and set the amp on low vol. Tube amps dont really sound their best at low volume ecpecially in a small bedroom.
