This is the best teacher. He keeps it simple and easy to master. Minimal amount of talking, just the right amount of repetition, no lengthy explanation, very efficient. It gives one confident to do it in a dance event.

I think the Samba ballroom's rhythm and timing are perfectly okay. The figures are typically taught in Germany and the lady's body is amazing sexy and flexible. Her movement is not stiff by all means.... Kudos for the teacher to explain it step by step in a systematic way.

very good video . Remember people these are just the basics lol and that everyone has their own personal style. I have been dancing for six years now, i have seen many different styles of dance with many different people we all put our own little kick in it. And as i said before these are the basics so just relax people. :)

A very good instructional video demonstrating the basics of the ballroom Samba. This is not quite the same dance as the Samba you would see in Brazil, but if you don't happen to be in Brazil, who the hell cares.

Hello, i just wanna say that this beautifull presentation is what they call "International Ballroom Samba", a type of european dance that was developed from Maxixe - a extinct type of african-brazilian culture - not from samba. All the things that happen in samba culture for the last 70 years are still a unexplored field for europeans. Its time to explore it! Look for samba de gafieira (Jimmy de oliveira) in internet. It would be great to have a real samba version of samba in europe!

super helpful video! no this is not brazilian street samba, this is ballroom samba, and i entered a friendly latin and ballroom competition this weekend at the last minute so this was perfect as i don't think i've learned this one before! the music and dancing was a bit out of sync so it helped more to just turn the sound off and watch. still really helpful, thank you!

Incidentally, as to teachers in this video being OFF-TIME, yes they are but I believe the explanation is that the video and the sound have gotten out of synch. Brian Watson has a rumba video where this happens too.

Ich finde das dargestellte Video in verschiedener Hinsicht nicht zufriedenstellend. Es kommt bei mir beim Betrachten kein Sambafeeling auf. Es liegt sicherlich darin begründet, dass das Paar sehr stark hoppelt.und keinen richtigen Tanzausdruck aufweist. Hier werden nur Schritte (Schrittfolgen) abgelaufen, die leider keine schöne Tanzästhetik zulassen. Auchl verstehe ich das Anliegen dieses Videos nicht richtig. Was will das Video? Samba lehren oder Tänzer in spe von der Samba abhalten? Wenn ich mir NUR DAS Video anschaue, würde ich vermutlich keine Lust haben, diesen Tanz zu erlernen. Wenn ich mir aber andere Lehrer dazu anschaue, bekomme ich doch wider Spaß.

They know the basic mechanics well, but look a bit stiff. I think that every ballroom dancer should be required to learn the authentic Brazilian samba first so they no what they are deriving it from. otherwise it turns out to be completely detached and unwatchable.

Since you want to call what you are teaching samba, would you mind to give some explanations for the use of this word? What do you understand by this word? Whats the elements that makes it a version or at least a new approach or account of samba? What is the contribution or the relation to real samba music and culture? In your teaching is there any study about brazilian-afro origins and the demands of samba swing? Or you just teach whatever without further explanations and without care to who are you fooling? Its really curious to see how easy people think it is to be called a "teacher" or a authority of something thanks the self-indulgence of international ballroom culture and their institutionalized ignorance.
