Is 1a2 the same as SQQ?
@EgilsSmagris6 жыл бұрын
1a2 is different timing then SQQ. Usually 1a2 is danced with Bounce Action, but SQQ without Bounce. Technically 1a2 beat value is: 3/4, 1/4, 1. SQQ beat value is 1, 1/2, 1/2.

In the Reverse Turn, advanced samba dancers can do stronger natural-opposite body inclinations in the turns - if this happens, this would be a Reverse Roll. If this needs to happen, the dancers will need to be in close contact hold to get the better lead and body shapes, or the stronger inclinations will not work. In The Open Rocks, the dance observer sees a perception of something like CPP/PP Runs but unlike the CPP/PP Runs, only the follower switches sides to PP to CPP and back in the Open Rocks, and not the leader.

Meanwhile, the Continuous Spot Volta Turn reminds me of the Maypole figure, that is almost like that. The Maypole is almost like that - the leader "voltas" in a wide circle in one direction, while the follower "voltas" in a circle-in-place in the other direction.

The Travelling Volta to R and L - and the Travelling Volta to L to R - are both known as Criss Cross Voltas. The reason of course is after the first "1a2a3a4", you "criss-cross" on the 5, and complete the voltas on the other side on "a6a7a8."
