Sambar recipe | Simple sambar recipe explained..
This is a recipe of brahmins style sambar. Sambar without adding toor dal is called 'Kodyolu'/'kodilu'. So today we are preparing this. Sambar powder is already presented in earlier video. You can instantly Fry masala or add sambar powder to prepare it. A healthy ash gourd sambar by frying masala instantly is not a big process. You have to add either of sambar powder or fried masala while grinding.

Ingredients
Ash gourd
Water
Salt to taste
Chilli powder 1/2 sp
turmeric powder pinch
Jaggery small pieces
Tamerind water
For masala
Coconut oil 3sp
Methi 1/4sp
Urad dal 1sp
Dhaniya 2sp
Jeera 3/4sp
Hing
Curry leaves
Badgi chilli's 4
Greated coconut 1cup
For tempering
Oil 1sp
Mustard seeds 1sp
Red chilli 4pieces
Curry leaves

👌👌ರುಬ್ಬುವ ಕಲ್ಲಲ್ಲಿ ಮಸಾಲೆ ತಯಾರಿಸುವುದು ನೋಡಿ ಸಂತೋಷವಾಯಿತು. ಈಗಿನ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದು ತುಂಬಾ ವಿರಳವಾಗಿದೆ.

I tried this recipe step by step as described here and I cannot express how wonderful it turned out to be...extremely tasty and many of my guests kept Complimenting me. Only difference is I used Mixi Jar to grind instead of the Traditional Stone.

I tried this recipe today and it came out well. Only difference is I didn't use coconut oil as we were not having it. I know it adds a different flavor when cooked in coconut oil. Thanks for the recipe.

Battre, I tried this today with Mangaluru southekai. It came out great. Just a little bitter but that jaggery, Tamarind, chillie powder and salt blended in so nicely! Great South kanara recipe! Thanks for the video!!

Your channel reminds me of the oota that I used to eat at the Matha during my childhood. I love it and miss it so much, being in the US. Please keep making more such traditional recipes. These are all so healthy and delicious but forgotten today. It amazes me what a huge variety of vegetables we can incorporate in our food. I made this Ash Gourd Sambhar today and it was delicious.
