The inhaler being listed as manufactured in the USSR could also mean just the empty inhaler was made there and shipped in, then filled in Dogtown. With the lab in the Biotechnica facility the inhaler itself is probably harder to make than the drug for the scavs there, needing injection molding and forming presses to make the plastic body and metal can.

The plastic is the absolute easier part to produce, mostly we made the vapor pods and they were produced on site, i fact the tanks of already mixed medicine is dropped directly into the pods as they are extruded into the molds, the bottom of the next sheet is the top of the last sheet (blow, fill, seal) Producing something like 25 a second. And the machines that would make the metal vile of a standard inhaler are even simpler

From the bug the car mission, to hansens party, to the drug trade it seems russia is trying to get a foothold in NC and DT. Biotechnica invented CH002 but couldnt manage production leaving it to other companies, makes sense biotechnica could invent phant and leave production to the USSR and a local biohacker. Trading packaging production for a foothold in DT and protection from the hackers parent corp in return for better chems.

Fun thing i've noticed about Andrew Newman, the building he's in is connected to a corridor leading to a nearby voodoo boys hideout. They blocked the connecting corridor off with debris, mines and an HMG turret pointed directly at it. When i was sneaking through the hideout, i passed the corridor without thinking much of it. Then i heard manic laughter and cackling from deeper in which i later found out came from Newman while skezzed out of his mind. Seemed like the voodoo boys were so scared of the guy that they threw a ton of defenses down that corridor in the event that Newman would break through.

Gary Bates could be a reference to Agent 47 from Hitman (voiced by David Bateson). The sniper rifle, the removal of clothes, the lack of discernible genetic material - stuff checks out. Not sure about the thoughts though.

The effects of Phant are literally the definition of "Phantom Liberty". It causes the user to experience a figment of imagination that makes them feel free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one's way of life, behavior, or political views. Which is also to say that the user is possessed in a sense by the ghost of their own thoughts to act as they please without regard for effects or consequences.

@@chaosstripe9446 I mean, you're not wrong, but I strongly dislike that they went with the more scripted and choice free quest design rather than the good parts of the base game where you were almost entirely free in how you wanted to solve a problem. It starts with having to slot Slider's chip, and then it just doesn't stop. It's all downhill from there. Meanwhile, in the main quest, I can just shoot an XBD dealer in the head and take his stuff. Would've liked more of that option, even if I'm NOT using it.

Oh damn! I totally encountered a couple of these people and decided not to kill them in case they were related to a later quest. Specifically Garry Bates, I remember being on a nearby roof for an airdrop, and when leaving he noticed me. I nearly killed him before I noticed he had a specific name, so I left hoping to avoid screwing up some later questline.

My only call for #3 Cody Crosby might be a reference to Jax Briggs from Mortal Combat. The two metal arms and the fact that he’s an arena fighter who kills his opponents at the end (fatalities). Plus the character does look somewhat similar to some of Jax’s custom designs. #4 I believe is a reference to Agent 47. The sniper rifle, the fact he assassinates people and takes there disguise leaving his own there (in the games her literally leaves a small bag of his old clothes next to the body so this might be a cheeky - but this is a reality version with them just scattered to the side). The fact AG47 is a genetically engineered super assassin with no finger prints, an internal ear-peace that allows him to talk to his handlers and the iconic bar code on the back of his neck. Oh and the fact he looks like Gary could be a fun reference to how in many games AG47 will take up the disguise of dozens of people and actually play their roles out just to get near his target.

I think they're that way just cause of how tightly packed everything is in Dogtown. So you don't need questmarkers or anything to show you anything, you just end up finding them and reading about it. Kind of like most of the random encounters in NC with already-dead people you have to pick up shards from. Just that they all connect since they're in this one area.

Came back to the video to comment you missed Ayo Zarin, another hidden dogtown miniboss not tied to any mission objectives. She has Voodoo boys backing her up and can quick hack you while dodging bullets with her sandy. She was the hardest fight out of all dogtown bosses, plus the area we get to fight her in is pretty cool

man missed the most fun dogtown miniboss to take out, the rest of these on his list took me less than a minute each to complete, and some took less than ten seconds lmao. At least Ayo Zarin is a solid five minute fight with three iconic quickhacks you can pick up in the area afer you beat her... that alone makes it better than any other dogtown encounter in this list

Interesting thing about Garry: Airdrops will sometimes be on top of a crane like heavy machinery near by, and Gary the mf will snipe you from the place. That's also why 7:50 he's standing on the edge.

Apparently this was part of a Phant quest which was cut. But I believe in earlier patches Garry’s quest was unmarked. There’s also John King in the Stacks.

It was never planned to be a quest. The only sidequest that was removed (based on the old localization files that were accidentally added to the game around the patch 1.5) from the final version of Phantom Liberty had nothing to do with it. Cyberjunkies are listed as a general open world content, similar to courier missions and the drops, except not repeatable.

The first boss you show: I was looking around outside, came upon the building from the top and just short circuited the guy a few times. That's not a Boss fight. Killed the Boxing guy with my fists in a few swings after giving him a Contagion hit. The only 'boss' fight that was difficult because it was time consuming is the robot Barghest sends after you after getting a 5 star rating.

Correction, one of the components of phant is “dextromethamphetamine” which sounds like meth but it’s actually more similar to Molly, which is methylenedioxymethamphetamine, so I’d have to assume it’s more based on that. Since “dextromethamphetamine” isn’t a real substance. The other component being “cannabinoids” which means either weed (natural cannabinoids) or k2 (synthetic cannabinoids) and based on the genre and the way these virtual junkies are affected by the drug, I’d have to guess they mean K2, which if you don’t know what that is, (you’re lucky)it’s fake weed that’s super addictive and neurotoxic

The fact that none of these unique characters have an iconic weapon as a player reward shows a clear missed opportunity by CD Project Red. One problem with this DLC is that the enemy fortresses are not marked on the map, because exploring Dogtown behind them is tiring after you've covered almost the entire map and they still don't appear or you don't know if there are any more.

I may have found another Junkie near Terra Cognita. After defeating the botanist in her greenhouse, I was tracking a drop that landed on the other side of the wall near the rocket that says "No regrets". There is a bridge that leads to an unfinished construction site , if you go down to the first floor you'll see an underpass where the Junkie lives. He sits crouched by the other end of the passage near two bodies that had been burned and hung (one by the neck and one by their feet) There are no victims around him nor does he seem to have a name, but his abilities are; Break Hold and Frag grenades. I was walking through the passage he just walked up to me and said "The people need to know" He stops walking for a moment and then continues towards V and says "The world is different than you think" before he pulls out a machete and begins to attack you. I'm not sure how strong he was since he startled me and it was over with one headshot. All I found on his body was spray paint. There were no shards around to be found either on the ground nor on another body. I'm not sure if this was a bug or not. So idk his story or what happened, hopefully someone else can use this info to figure out more stuff about him.

i had not found blade on my own , the others i had stubled upon myself. well most of them that is , because Andrew Newman did not exist in my game. The place was very empty and i remember thinking : thats so odd , such a big building and we can actually enter and then there is nothing in it. Dunno if something has to triger or it was just a bug, but i did not meet neither him or his crew.

I do know that the place where you find him is connected to a nearby voodoo boys hideout via an inpassable corridor. If you approach that corridor while making your way through the gang hideout, you'll notice that it's entirely blocked off with debris. As if that wasn't enough, the voodoo boys heavily mined that spot and even have a turret aimed directly at it. Guess i wasn't the only one spooked by that creepy laughter...

These guys drop cyberware capacity shards, I don’t know which it seems random however there is a heightened opportunity for them compared to most end game enemies.. Tough sledding when you’re end game, at 334 & need 4 more to get an arm cyberware slot filled.. Especially to get the 15% cooldown perk bonus 😮‍💨

Phantom Liberty is the story of Songbird and her quest for freedom from the Blackwall taking her over, and from Meyers (thats the liberty part). The Phantom part of course is that there is no obvious solution. You end up with 2 choices, send So Mi to the moon because its her wish and full of hope to live on without the blackwall AIs, (but.... we have Mr mind control/Blue Eyes who apparently can hack the relic and give V a message prior to meeting with Paralez), or we have option 2 ending up giving So Mi her last wish... to die.

Hey Sam, I know you probably won't get to read my comment since this video is more than 2 months old but I was curious to ask you about something. when you're wandering around in Dogtown sometimes an NPC comes to you and threatens you with weird sentences as if they were possessed by rouge AIs or something like that. They say something like "We are legion for we are many" and then they attack you in a creepy way. I've never encountered these guys in night city. do you think they're related to the rouge AI conspiracies or even the FF06B5 mystery?

Shards/logs/emails are a great way to do that in a game like 2077, because all other ways are susceptible to player interference and/or are easy to miss.
