I would too. But I can tell you after I installed the Ktuner and went for a stage 2 map. It's a huge difference in my opinion I mean I can squeal em in third gear with my 6-speed. I can't do that when it's not tuned though. I flashed it back to stock to bring it in for a service and I noticed immediately the difference. I guess the butt Dyno versus regular track racing must tell your mind something different according to this video.

I’m a BMW guy, I’ve owned a 2012 GTI, 2014 328i and a 2018 440i and I’ve never driven a Japanese car. I test drove a 2021 Accord 2.0T and OMG, what a perfect sedan except for the sound system. I was very impressed with the accord and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a large fun family sedan.

The reason the GLI pulled off so well on the sport mode on/trac off race is because VW cars rely on both of those settings enabled for launch control. DSG is also a bomb transmission

The fastest turbo swapped accord using TYPE R turbo is running 11.7 while the fastest GLI is running 10.6 seconds with GOLF R turbo swapped. Both relatively small turbos. GLI is just the faster car

Great matchup. The VW is one of very few automatic transmissions I would ever even consider driving. That jetta needs some better tires though. For a few hundred bucks that car can take another half second off its 1/4 mile time.

@@Japalian24 Exactly my point. The accord as fast as it is, does not have a very durable transmission. Honda is pretty famous for making weak in house transmissions and being too stubborn to change. The civic has a CVT, which i personally would never drive in any vehicle ever. Can be the fastest car in the world and it makes for a lousy driving experience. The VW DSG is a great automatic trans. VW has plenty of their own issues.... but transmissions are good.

I raced a 2018 Accord Sport 2.0T 10 speed against my friends stock 2019 VW Jetta GLI DSG. We were nose to nose on most of the runs. After 120, the GLI may be able to pull a car length ahead.

Accept the accord is Ktuned while This GLI is Cobb tuned. Cobb is the worse tune. If it was APR vs Ktune then the GLI easily would take it. Or EQT vs ktune or IE vs Ktune literally any of the well known tunes that the MK7 GTIGLI are known for getting 100+hp out of a single stage 1

Further more the MK7 GLI can do WAYYY better timing than any MK6 GLI. The fastest STOCK turbo GLI runs 11.9 with videos on KZbin. The fastest TURBO SWAPPED accord with 5 k spent on it runs 11.7. Further more, the USA GLIS get the 35th anniversary edition which is 200 pounds lighter than the one used in this video and only 100 pounds heavier than a regular GTI. Know ur facts before talking. The GLIGTI within 4 years of coming out broke records of 10 seconds while the accord 2.0 can barely beat 11.7 with 5 k spent on it

They're great, man. I have a tuned 1.5. Even with the base maps (ones included with KTuner), it becomes a lot quicker. I haven't used Hondata, but I've also heard great things about their tuner. However, you can buy additional tunes. For example, TSP Stage 1. (I don't believe that non-SIs have a Stage 2 tune from TSP.) Supposedly, KTuner's base maps allow for better quick acceleration, but TSP's tune has better acceleration at the top end. I use "supposedly" because I haven't used TSP yet - only KTuner basemaps.

That's my experience with my 2016 GTI DSG with JB4. Always blowing the front tires off, even on good days. When raining, forget about it! On a roll, the GTI was sooooo dang quick, what a surprising little car. BTW, my DSG failed at 20K miles, most likely due to having a JB4, which is what we would call "slightly less than a stage 1".

it's because 2019+ all the Jetta GLI come with the GTI motor and DSG trans and the same platform. And the GTI/GOLF R have been tuning monsters for a while so it's essentially the same car with a trunk

Also, stock they are matched because though, the Accord has more power, the GLI is lighter. If the GLI was tuned to have the same horsepower number as the Accord, the Accord would win. Tuned is actually unfair to the Accord if anything because it has more power and it’s lighter. The Accord is the superior car.

He found out his engin has engin oil consumtion pb (about 5 liters of oil every 1000 km) He initially wanted to keep his car for 4 years, he ended up kicking out that shit 5 month later.

Actually it’s reversed this time. It’s a 10 speed accord that’s on Ktuned vs a GLI that is COBB tuned which is the WEAKEST tune for a GLI. They might as well race it stock. If they used a proper OTS tune for the GLI like they are for the accord then the accord would have gotten smoked. The fastest accord runs 11.7 seconds while the fastest MK7 is in the 10 seconds so I don’t know what ur even talking about

No it doesn’t? Ur so miss informed . The fastest GLI runs 14.05 stock while the accord did 14.2. The fastest tuned ACCORD runs 11.7 by Joel Felix while the fastest GLI runs 10.6. Tune for tune the GLI DOMINATES the accord. Which is why I’m this video they are using a COBB tune GLI which is the WORSE possibly and weakest tune known by every VW tuner. If they were doing APR VS KTUNE, IE VS KTUNE, EQT vs Ktune which is what gives the GLI EASY 100+HP out of a singlr stage 1 tune. The accord would get smoked

2.0T needs to be Accordata stage 3 tuned to 365 hp 400 ft/lbs torque to make it very competitive with the GLI DSG . Stock Accord 2.0T can take a stock Jetta gli dsg!

Good luck, those manual GLI's have really weak clutches so even a stg 1 tune will slip the clutch. The DSG can hold the power much better.

Anytime you modify a vehicle by increasing boost puts more pressure on the drivetrain and other components on the vehicle and it will require more maintenance to keep it reliable. I do believe APR does sell a tune and they offer their own warranty but soon as you tune your car you void your factory warranty so that's something to keep in mind if your car is brand new.

@@JuanCarlosYes Yeah, VW is VERY strict with mods on cars. The best bang for the buck is a tune. On a manual car you will need to upgrade your clutch, and you have to be careful with the 2.0 in your car with a manual. Some modified cars suffered from crank walk which basically means your engine is toast. The DSG car's don't seem to suffer from this issue. So if I were you? Keep it stock. Just so you know I drive a MK7.5 GTI with DSG and know a thing or 2 about them. I am keeping my GTI stock. Been there done that with previous cars. The bottom line? Though fun to be quicker? The stock cars are quick enough. Its also nice knowing that your warranty is intact and stock should last a very long time. If you get the mod itch though? I get it. Been there. Just trying to have other people learn from my financial mistakes.

Damn I own a 2019 Accord 2.0 with the stage 2 ktuner. My wife has a 2020 Civic hatch 1.5 with CVT. My car is way quicker I drive both all the time. Maybe I should put a ktuner in my wife's Civic. I just thought it would wreak havoc on her CVT tranny. It's pretty crazy seeing them pretty much side by side and that Accord is specially tuned. Sounds like it has a downpipe exhaust k tuned I just can't picture my wife's car staying up with that car whatsoever. 😁

I have NEVER seen a stock Accord 2.0T vs Altima VC-Turbo ANYWHERE, which is strange to me. Would LOVE to see stock race of these 2 cars. On Paper the Accord is 5.7 (0-60) And the Altima is 5.8 (0-60) per Motortrend... But definitely keep posting videos of tuners and stock... 👍

Accord seems to be just slightly faster in all tests. Latest test from C&D on the ‘21 Accord was 5.4 0-60. Altima’s slower launch is 100 percent due to the CVT which is slower to respond off the line. Accord has a very low 1st gear which gives it a great launch. Altima might beat it in a roll race though.

A lot of cars wake up from single tunes and you can really see their potential. So I feel it's really important to bring tuned cars. And you can also use TUNED cars against higher HP cars that are stock and compare them. Then people can see with simple tunes what their cars can do

I really enjoy tuned cars as well Sam, It shows value in cars for their money. For instance My GLI stock is not really fast at all. But with a single Stage 1 APR tune that they offer warranty on, I can beat a TYPE R and the car cost me 21k and 500 for the tune so 21500 for the total car. So I feel it's good to bring them on sometimes. Because some cars really just need one simple tune to shine. Such as the VW, Honda, TYPE S. But whatever you are comfortable with works.
