the best sportster ever built... thank you yamaha!

This is the better HD SPORTSTER. QUALITÄT👍

I prefer the Yamaha Bolt because it feels less top heavy, not as narrow and my nuts aren't numb after riding it. The Harley 48 (and other Sportsters) just feel top heavy, even with the same seat height.

I drilled holes in the baffle plate and corresponding holes in the cover - added about 20% more to the exhaust noise. I'd like a little more but it's much better than stock and was free.

I keep looking at the one in the showroom just up the road.. love the style, the misses put me off by saying I looked to big for it... great review Sir as always.

I´m pretty tall and probably look to big also but it felt so nice riding it, the bike is so light and nimble, I really liked it! Thanks :)

Nice quiet exhaust sound. No need to make it sound blatty.

I got this 2017 model with v&h air intake and akrapovic exhaust. sounds way better than a HD.

Good review and nice smooth roads. Thank you. No ABS available in Australia, which is a shame. It will be mandatory in time which will save a lot of lives. Cheers

Thanks, agreed ABS is they way to go.

Nice ride review bro, I must admit at that price i'd have the bolt too, love the looks of the forty eight more but some nice touches on the bolt, RSM8.
@GurrasGarage8 жыл бұрын
Thanks bud! Agree the forty eight looks fantastic, but you can buy lots of cool add ons for the Bolt too :) RSMF

Nice Review, I just have a little doubt, does the air filter bother you when touching with your right knee?

My neighbour bought one last year and installed really nice pipes this year. It is a nice bike, but I like something with a little more meat on it. ;) ride safe bro.

I like that its´so small and light, doesn't require planning ahead where to park that thing so you don't get stuck, big difference to my heavy Wild Star lol RSMF

It took along time but hd finally won my heart, and im a x BMW guy too...
@TheHirade7 жыл бұрын
you must not compare it with the 48 but the 883. The 48 is a 1200cc and has much more Nm (over 110Nm I guess) than the Bolt and 883. So the price is to compare to the 883 and they are just about the same. 48 is very different

Any death wobble? When is Yamaha going to admit this and change the steering head bearings? And also the tires?

Cheers, I dont remember having any problem with this bike when I tested it.

I sat on one of these in the showroom; it was a little too big & too heavy for me, you know, just trying to lift it up off the kickstand. I wanted to like it, though. lol
@GurrasGarage8 жыл бұрын
And I think it was so light and nimble lol My WildStar weights 100kg/220lbs more! I was planning to trade my WildStar for this demo bike but they called me today and told me they sold it this Saturday, that ruined my day!

Maybe they're different now, but I tried to test ride a Bolt once...way to small for me to fit.

Beautiful bike and sure it would make nice sounds with new slip-on. But that speed meter, cmon! It is plain ugly! The bike is shouting for analog speed meter to make it spot on!

This or the 1100 honda?
@GurrasGarage3 жыл бұрын
The Honda is a much more modern bike, have a lot of power and more fun to ride. The Bolt is cheaper and if you like a v-twin and dont want to spend twice as much for a HD, then the Yamaha is not a bad choice :)

I don't hear any v twin sound. Sounds more like an inline four. I thought I actually heard gear whine. Why can't the Japanese get it right. Only H-D makes a bike that sounds like it should.

Gerald Scott H-D's sound like farmyard tractors..Bolts tru sound comes out with V-H's,bassani,cobra,yoshimiru's etc.
