No he was 100% being toxic here. People do this all the time in duel right before their titan dies. They do it to delay the end result and waste time. If he really had to go do something, he would have let Sam end the game since there was no way the titan would have survived. This guy is high mmr enough with enough games played to know the titan is dying there no matter what.

no, it's just this patch or rather season. those spawn when one of the enemies or team mates die, it's like their ghosts you can say. the area around them give you movement speed, killing them gives either team the gold and im not sure, xp

I might not have the perfect answer, but something like this sometimes happens to a friend of mine, in his case it was because of his pc. (Or that's what we came to conclude) It was fairly old and didnt really have much power, and since conquest is the biggest map in smite, I guess its got to do with that, more textures/frames/shadows to load etc. Lowering the graphics to their minimum helped a little bit for him.
