2:47 "The secret to drawing beautiful men is to just draw them like women!" Literally SO TRUE, I used to only draw women, and now am confident in drawing any gender. But recently I was like "have I drawn any men at all recently?" and I realized 75% of my recent drawings were of men but I drew them all so pretty so it didn't even register that I was drawing men LMAO

@@madnessends2477 you got a point, but in Sam's case, i don't think this is really a society thing and more of an "art" thing. When you look at famous modern artists like GUWEIZ, Ilya Kushinov, Loish(and so many more honestly its ridiculous) you'll find that their drawings are mostly if not all with conventionally attractive women. And this isn't an independent artist thing either, animation studios like Disney and Pixar almost always draw their women the same way, curvy with a round face and small button nose, while the males have more variety in their design(you're probably aware of the meme called the pixar female animal syndrome, if not i highly suggest looking it up since it illustrates my point perfectly). Now, it would be pretty easy to write these artists off as sexist or sexualizing women, but I think its more so because drawing attractive women is just more marketable. Yes, it sounds horrible I know, but you have to take into account that the artists i mentioned earlier(including Sam) are *illustrators*. It would probably be a different story if they were concept artists since those artist's work are more likely to be less polished and appealing to look at. With illustrators your main job is basically to make pretty art for the masses, and if pretty women will appeal to a wider audience and sell more prints then you just gotta do what you gotta do. For all we know, these artists would very much love to draw men, or just women who aren't attractive by society's standards, but at the end of the day this is their job, and in the grand scheme of things, drawing pretty women exclusively so you can afford rent isn't as much of a crime compared to what corporations are up to these days

i mean it depends on how you want to draw a man, all of my characters are men, but most of the time you cant tell they are men just because of how feminine i make them, but they are still men cause i dont draw women since i struggle with their body structure like i can not draw women for the life of me, but also your character sounds amazing, as an actual afab trans genderfluid person i love your character (fun fact all my characters are how i saw myself or wanted to be like, so as a kid it was kinda confusing to be drawing men who are so feminine that i cant tell they are men and think that that is how i saw myself, and then i found out i was trans and literally like a few months ago that i was genderfluid)
