The AP-1 is the JP-1's predecessor originally manufactured by Jang Automation company itself in South-Korea. Chinese manufacturers copied the design and started selling counterfeits of AP-1 causing Jang Automation company to come up with the newly patented JP-1 design. JP-1 also addresses the little flaws which were observed from the AP-1's design. Kindly support Jang Automation company by not buying the counterfeits from China. If any of you are looking for an Alternative to the Jang's JP-1 seeder for a fair comparison, you can look up for Earthway Seeder which is manufactured in America. Thumb this up so other people can see, thanks. - International Representative of Jang Automation.

Why don't you sell direct online then? I want to buy a Jang but they are only sold from another company in Australia and they cost over 1000usd..... SELL ONLINE DIRECT and I'm sure most people would prefer to buy from you rather than risk buying from China...

I'm currently assigned to ship to Africa, Asia and countries within the Indian ocean except Australia as we already have a local dealer there. Agreed although I did get a knockoff from China. It does work well and the cost of the machine plus the cost of the rollers is unbeatable although not a substitute for the jang Jp-1. I will still invest in the jang in the future once I do have the funds for it but it does cost a lot and the price just keeps going up.
@travboerner2655 Жыл бұрын
With that being said as well the ap-1 is also just a knock off. Nothing wrong with getting a Chinese jang seeder for anyone jus getting started. It’s actually better than the ap-1 and for $250 shipped and received in 7days with 6 seeding wheels you really can beat it for getting started.

Great product analysis. As for our manufacturers, please do not assume what farmers are looking for when designing a product. Go to the source, first, then adjust and apply before making a decision as to what works and how you will save money on manufacturing costs. BTW saving upfront, doesn't mean you will have the sales to justify the savings. I'm not trying to take a negative position, just offering a suggestion.

Nice to see such a thoughtful comparison. I can see why watching the seeds would be a big deal. I wonder if you could get a small mirror mounted to be able to see the seeding on the front?
@nathanwooldridge854 жыл бұрын
Was that non-committal closing question just a polite way of saying the Jang is better? I think so. You clearly and concisely identified the differences and it is obvious that these differences are where the cost has been taken out. Great Vid

Looks like the AP-1 is designed better for seeding on gangs. From a tractor seat, you could see the seed. The wider wheels would also stand up to heavier use on a gang seeder setup.

A little serious competition may be a good thing. In the specialty market gardening world some tools seem to be very expensive. On the other hand some tools appear to have cut quality in construction where it hurts performance and longevity. Note the Jang certinly did not cut on quality or performance. Just a thought.

Agreed. Good points

Just being able to see the seeds is worth the $100 when you consider the time and growth you will have lost if the AP-1 wasn't seeding as you thought. If that $100 nets you hours of reseeding and doubles just one beds ability to produce-it is worth it.

You may find that the extra weight of the jang makes it more stable, less likely to hop over obstacles and can drive the double disc with more authority through debris

@@notillgrowers Add about 20lbs of weight to the AP-1, I bet you have the same smoothness (and maybe better) especially cutting through debris with the double disk.

Just found that seeder for under $150 including shipping. That is less than Jang charges for just their replacemeny seed box assembly..the order is placed. Ill see how close they are as ill be modifying it to pull behind my garden tractor.
@tombauder84894 жыл бұрын
I own both and agree that the Jang is much better and I also agree that the Jang is worth the extra money, but why do they need to rip us off with the seed wheels. I've seen $25 even $30 for little rubber seeding wheels. They could sell those wheels for $10 I'm sure, and still make a profit. I guess it's because once you own there seeder, you'll need there wheels no matter what the price.

That cheaper seeder could be connected to an electric drill ... don't know why or how useful that could be. But that might of interest to propagate larger swathes of land with cover crop maybe?

Hey are you can still get a Jang Chinese knockoff for almost half of that price of the AP1 through Alibaba that's including the shipping that exact same seeder. So it's like do I need a a $60,000 truck or a $40,000 truck, do I need a Cadillac when a Chevy will do. But thanks for the video it was still informative.

To be fair, the full set up on the jang is about $600 with rollers (~$740 with the double disc). I know very few farmers--beginning or not--for whom that is not a a significant expense. I recommend the jang. I think it’s worth it. I also don’t blame anyone or exploring (at least temporary) alternatives to save a little money.
