Alastor was was a radio host in the late 20's and 30's, he was also a serial killer and cannibal. We don't know for sure but its believed he was killed in a hunting accident, mistaken for a deer while hiding the bodies. As we know he has a hatred for dogs, has a cross on his forehead where he was shot and has antlers in some of the art shown. He is a powerful overlord. So he's above sinners, hellborn demons (imps, hellhounds, succubus and incubus etc), but below demon lords like Stolas and the other Ars Geoetia. The hell hierarchy goes 1) Lucifer 2) Lilith and Charlie 3) 7 deadly sins (rulers of the rings of hell, like Asmodeus) 4) Demon royalty (like Stolas and his family) 5) Overlords (like Alestor) 6) Sinners 7) Hellborn demons (like Succubi, Inncubi and others) 8) Lower Hellborn demons (Imps, Hellhounds)

Alistor's full demon form has huge antlers. If you watch, when he goes to the bar to create the cheap booze, he has deer prints on the bottom of his feet. In one of the original iterations of him, he was an actual deer. I also highly recommend reading the comic - A Day in the Afterlife, about Alistor. It's... terrifying AND thought provoking

Angel is definitely my favorite character! He’s honestly such a deep character (you should watch Addict if you haven’t yet!) Angel is a jumping spider because he came from a mob family, and thus had a “web” of connections. He has an older brother, Arackniss and a twin sister named Molly. His dad and brother are in Hell, but Molly and the mother are unknown. His human name was Anthony, and he died of a PCP overdose (PCP is Angel Dust, hence his name now) 💛

Yeah Angel is pretty hilarious I must say, reminds me of Blitzy from Helluva Boss! But damn, I must say the way they design the characters based off of their personality and life before they died is great! Definitely one of my favourite parts of the show!

From what I understand Hazbin Hotel primarily takes place on the pride ring. Mainly because most of the main characters are “sinner” demons (aka former humans) and are more or less confined to the pride ring. Charlie is the main exception, as her father is Lucifer (a fallen Angel) and Lilith (as far as I can tell a demon in this universe)

Some little fun facts for you: 1: I recommend highly the song "Addict" by Silva Hound. It features the VA of Angel Dust and singer Chi-Chi and the Song/MV gives a bit of backstory on Angel Dust and how he ended up in hell and the hotel. 2: Actually, I recommend all of the Songs Silva Hound and Paranoid DJ did for the Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss franchises. These two carried the fandom on their backs since we haven't got any new stuff, apart from the tweets where we were shown the redesigns of the Hazbin Hotel main characters. 3: Charlie (or Charlotte) is the daughter of the fallen Angel Lucifer, who rebelled against God himself and got kicked out of heaven, and Lillith, Adam's first wife who didn't want to be obedient to Adam so God threw her in Hell and so she became the Mother of Demons. Quite a Pedigree if you ask me. And Charlie is the third most powerful being in Hell, thanks to that pedigree. So she could EASILY snap Katie Killjoy and Alastor out of existence. 4: - Charlie is bisexual, Vaggie is lesbian, both are a couple - Angel is a gay crossdresser, his Chest is just super fluff (that's why Niffty thought he was a women) - Husk (only Alastor calls him Husker to go on his nerves) is pansexual - Alastor (the absolut friggin best Character) is asexual & aromantic 5: Like Hannibal Lecter (The Silence of Lambs) who NEVER blinks, Alastor NEVER stops smiling. He sees it as weakness when you frown. Also he was a serial killer, cannibal and radio host (that's why he has this awesome voice) in the 1920's who got mistaken for a deer by a hunter when he tried to hide a body and was shot in 1933 (that's why he has Antlers and Hoof prints on the bottom of his Feet/Shoes). It is a rumor that he got so powerful because he ate the other Overlords (hence the cannibal background) and that's how he also got all of their powers. But then again, he has a high moral compass. 6: Sir Pentious died in the 19th century (1880 if I remember correctely - which is also the reason he thinks Angel dust is true when he calls him "Daddy", he doesn't understand such jokes), Alastor in 1933, Angel Dust in 1947 (that's why he has such joy with the electrical window in car, they weren't invented when he died) Niffty in the 50's, Husker in the 70's and Vaggie in somewhat 2010-ish. Tom Trench died in WW1, hence the name and the gasmask. 7: The show got picked up by Studio A24 and it is rumored that the first season comes out next year on a streaming service. And there is a rumor that we get an announcement about Hazbin Hotel on Halloween. Everybody hopes it's true and that we get a release date. 8: I highly recommend the Spin-Off "Helluva Boss". It has already 1 season out with 7 episodes and season 2 has 1 episode (with the second one coming in late octovber, probably around Halloween). It takes place in a different part of Hell and features different characters but they are awesome. 9. In the P0rn-Studio Tower at the beginning, you see 2 of the main villians of the show. The guy with the TV as a head, VOX, and the ruler of the P0rn industry in hell, VALENTINO. Angel Dust owes Valentino money (which is why he gets out of this guy's car). Angel Dust is also Valentino's "property", Val sees it that way and treats Angel Dust accordingly. There are a lot of fan comics (including comic dubs by Paranoid DJ) that shed more light on this. 10. Niffty is a germaphobe (who could have guessed), Alastor can buy Husker with Cheap Booze because "Cheap Booze" is actually an alcohol brand and the most expensive alcohol in hell and it's hard to get. 11. At 32:04 you can see, on the right side of the Hotel, the god damn Titanic!!! So that ship did sunk REALLY deep! 12: About that quote of Lotte Reiniger which is shown at 32:41: She invented that artstyle that was used at the very beginning of the pilot episode (every background white and you are shown the shadows of the protagonists). I think I got everything... Enjoy the rabbit hole!

My good god that’s a lot of information to digest 😂 so.. I plan to watch the songs I’ve had a few comments about them so far so how could I say no to that! Charlie being Lucifer and Lilith’s daughter would explain why she never really seems all that bothered by the other beings in terms of strength, since it’s pretty obvious she could annihilate them if she so pleased I found out after the fact about Charlie being in a relationship which is cool, I love how all of the characters have these complicated personalities rather than all just being heterosexual and not having any real relationships being formed in the show which they could have easily of done. Shows how dedicated they are! As for the characters, their personalities and designs are one of the best things about this show IMO, like angels who are usually self actualising their appearance is usually based off of their past lives and how they died, really really cool! And as for Helluva Boss I’ve already done I think 5 reactions to that already, I absolutely love it! This is definitely a universe I could get addicted to watching! Hopefully they do release more because there’s so much more they could do in this show! Thanks for all the notes btw! I love it 🔥

Oh btw Vivziepop said a loooong time ago (so idk if its still canon but i like to believe it is) that the angels get a more demonic form once they enter hell. They don't look like that in heaven. We can imagine the sinners will have their appearance changed aswell if they somehow get rehabilitated and accepted into heaven. (Hellborn creatures are pretty much stuck in hell for obvious reasons)

This comes first. This is the pilot episode for the story they want to tell. Helluva boss is the sit-com that takes less effort* they did in the meantime to expand the world and tell other stories in the same world. The fact that Helluva Boss turned out to be such a great show and a huge success as well speaks volumes about the crew. *comparatively, I don't want to downplay the amount of effort any animation takes, but a 10 minute comedy takes less time/effort than a 30 min musical drama/comedy

I want to point out that hell is a place of suffering, and human souls are transformed into their current personas based on the sins they committed in life. If you watched the hotel song with Charlie trying to force fallen souls to change in a place of eternal sin and suffering is just an aspect of Charlie's role in hell. She intentionally keeps her appearance as a human and acts as close to human as possible and tries to torture souls in vain hopes of redeeming them. Alistor's interpretation of why he is interested in watching charlie's project, to e joy the suffering she will cause.

An interesting fact about sinners: Sinners are humans that died and went to hell, they are not hellborns. Almost every sinner has a mark on them like an X or a + to give you an idea of how they died, unless it was internal like a heart attack or snapped neck. Some ideas are Vaggie got shot in the eye in the 2010’s, Alastair got mistaken for a deer while hiding bodies and was shot in the head in the late 1920’s-early 1930’s, Angel Dust died of overdose around about 1948 or so, Husk died of drinking too much, Sir Pentious died of an experiment backfiring, Cherry Bomb was shot in the heart likely do to being an arsonist, Katie Killjoy was a tv announcer and died of a snapped neck, and the man next to her with the gas mask face (idk his name sorry) likely died of a faulty gas mask in WW1. Sinners also have features on them that indicate their lifestyle when they were alive I think.

My own theory is. The great old gods were displaced from heaven and hell. However, in order for all of this to be established, balance was needed... Lucifier has been the angel who loved God the most. But when he created humans, Lucifer felt betrayed and started a rebellion in heaven... for that he was banished. Lilith his wife, is the first female being of creation and was also betrayed by God.... So it's not unusual that Charlie Morningstar (Lucifer was also called the Morningstar, the brightest of them all) ... but Alastor has a deal with Lucifer... and Lucifer with Heaven. If the hotel is successful... so hell is discharged and paradise (which is underpopulated) gets more inhabitants.... But this can also be all just a test for Charlie, which should prove itself in the end. Because she is a pure innocent soul who reminds Lilith and Lucifer of their own place in heaven....

This pilot didn't really grab me at first, but now that I'm rewatching it for this reaction after having seen all of Helluva Boss, I like it more (and the Addict video is terrific). Apparently the plan is for the two stories not to overlap at all despite taking place in the same Hell and that has me quite curious. Hell has an overpopulation problem and so angelic forces show up once a year to "cleanse" it with mass murder? Does Extermination Day just not happen where the HB crew lives? Charlie you're adorable and the rehab idea is sweet but have you considered distributing birth control? Waiiitaminute, Charlie's "I have a dream I'm here to tell" song bit got totally ripped off by the Fizzarolli robot at Loo Loo Land, didn't it? If she's the third powerful being in Hell, why does everyone feel safe mocking her? How does Lucifer feel about having a Disney princess for a daughter? ...Apparently not great, ouch. I've heard that the creator says Alastor and Stolas are roughly equal in power. The owl must really be holding back then because the radio demon is terrifying - I'd forgotten all about the kraken. Yikes.

Yeah I enjoyed it, like I said it seems way more of a story driver piece than Helluva boss but I don’t mind that at all. I’m assuming they feel fine mocking her because she’s a lot more calm than the others so they don’t think she’ll retaliate maybe. In regards to the yearly cleanse, it only happens in the Pride Ring, and targets sinner demons, specifically. While Imp City is also in the Pride Ring, with the sinners, imps and other hellborn are not limited to stay in the Pride Ring the way sinner demons are. So, my theory is either that the angelic exterminators mainly stick to Pentagram City, and don’t go over to Imp City, or that the hellborn demons just visit another ring for the day, and come back to Pride once the cleanse is over. I’m guessing that’s why it’s not really mentioned in Helluva Boss. It just doesn’t effect hellborn demons the same way. 🤷🏻 Also, Hell has an overpopulation problem because sinners keep dying, thus new souls keep arriving, and there’s only so much room in the Pride ring. Charlie setting up birth control distribution in Hell wouldn’t fix the problem. lol 😅 (I don’t even think sinner demons can reproduce, since they’re technically dead. I’m pretty sure only hellborn demons can actually have kids, and the other rings don’t seem to have overpopulation problems, as far as we know.)

Hell originally wasn't made for people; it was created as punishment for Lucifer and his fallen angels when they rebelled and waged war in Heaven. The reason people go there is because when Lucifer (now Satan) was cast out of Heaven, he introduced sin into the world as his revenge against God; kinda like a "You may have condemned me to this agony for eternity, but guess what? I'm taking as many of your precious creations with me as I can!" I believe there can be redemption for people, but those who are in Hell have earned their place there. I mean, would you want someone like Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Pol Pot, Saddam Hussein or Osama Bin Laden to experience eternal paradise?

Lucifer and Satan are the same. He became known as Satan after he was cast out of heaven.

In the Hazbin/Helluva universe, Lucifer and Satan are actually separate beings. Lucifer is the most powerful and is the ruler of all of Hell, but he mainly rules the Pride Ring, while Satan is one of the Deadly Sins (like Asmodeus and Beelzebub) and is the King and ruler of the Wrath Ring. 😊
