I just started learning how to kite and had no clue that where I live here in Safety Bay Western Australia was one of the best places in the world to kite. Very lucky to have the pound just few minutes away , beautiful beach and consistent wind 🏝️. One day I will go back to Brazil and explore my home country 🤙.

A lot of these places seem unpleasantly crowded to me. Cape Town, the lagoons in Brazil, Hood River, Dhaka ... and many other spots. There's something to be said for the beauty of uncrowded spots.

my last three kite trips were to Hood River, South Africa, and Brazil. This is a pretty solid list. If you do go to Brazil you should go MUCH farther afield than Cumbuco or Taiba. All of my favorite places were on the other side of Jeri ... Specifically, Macapa is the greatest place I have ever kited.

Here’s a bit about the Seychelles! 🇸🇨 Kitesurfing is not very common here but the locations are incredible! During the right season we have consistent strong wind blowing from the SE. The best spot is between 2 nearby islands off of Mahe. The wind blows through the gap between them, reducing wind shifts, and at the end there are some small waves going over the reef and making some smooth terrain. We have warm temperatures through the year and when the wind drops, free diving will take over your time. ⛵️

Hello Sam, Thank you very much for your videos, I really like them. I share your opinion of Cumbuco Brazil, close to Fortaleza, I humbly believe that there are other incredible and very accessible places that you missed, 1. Punta Chame, Republic of Panama, from December to March, the ambient temperature of water and wind is magical, ideal for kite sailing from 12 to 8 m², weighing 80 kg. Amazing scenery, a fantastic community of kiters and people. 2. Cuesta del Viento, San Juan, Republic of Argentina, preferably when it is summer, from December to March, it is 3,000 meters high, an artificial dam to stop the melting waters, after 12 noon, the wind It turns on as if someone turned it on with a switch almost on time every day. For Kites from 6 to 10 m², weight 80 kg. Positive side incredible landscapes, incredible wind and people, negative, you have to wear a 4/3 neoprene suit at least, and on my last trips the first and second day I lost them due to the change of living at sea level and moving to the height of 3,000 meters of blow height. But once in the kite, everything is great. 3. Humbly I found Cabarete fantastic in the Dominican Republic. 4. Punta del Este, the Republic of Uruguay in December and January. 5. I never was, but it is a pending task that I hope to carry out that I have wanted for many years still when I was windsurfing. HAWAII, USA. Regards. Leo

Svencele in Lithuania is a good places to kite ;) Fresh, shallow water, no sand, just soft grass, wind can come from any direction, sometimes good for freestyle, sometimes for big air, sometimes you get just 12knts, sometimes 40+. Where about in Brazil? It's not exactly a small place so some more detailed pointers would be great 👍 :-) Growing up windsurfing in Cape Town I can say that its an amazing spot to windsurf and I expect kitesurf. In the summer months the South Easter picks up at about 11am and blows a gale until about 5pm almost every day. If you are a beginner then you can head further north to the lagoon spot in langebaan which is also a pretty spectacular spot. The water is cold so bring a good wetsuit. Great video thanks

I think that dakhla deserve to be one of the 3 bests spots in the world because of the wind that is always good. Also we can find in dakhla flat spots, speed spots, wave spots and we can do some incredible down winds to the white dune for example. Good video thanks for your advise. And in brazil, is Jericoacoara the spot you’re showing in the video ?

@SamLight4 жыл бұрын
Haven't made it there yet, I have heard it's amazing!
@DaveBull962 жыл бұрын
Brett, I have to agree with you. Aitutaki is magical, crystal clear warm water, and if you are lucky windy. My first lesson was in Cabarette, Dominican Republic in the 90’s, then Furtuventura, Canerries, and finally Poole Harbour, Uk. I’m now mostly around Sydney Australia 🇦🇺. When I tried to get my wife into the sport, 7 years ago, she didn’t fancy Botany Bay, and said the only way she would try it was if I could take her to water and air temperatures in the 20’s (C no F), knee to waste deep water and a good instructor. I found Andrea teaching on Honeymoon island, a sand cay off Aitutaki, for my 50th birthday I saw my wife get her first good long ride in the morning, cooked fresh tuna stakes on the bbq for lunch, and did an epic down winder with the school all the way along the inside of the reef to One Foot Island in the afternoon. Perfect, we will go back for more. We also recommend Noumea, in New Caledonia, for consistency of wind in Dec / Jan, warm air and water, and Kitesports over turtles. Okay so occasionally you have to do a little jump to make sure you don’t hit them, but boy is it a beautiful experience….
