This is a truly wonderful show, packed with some of the world's late, most beautiful people & finest talents, albeit gone too soon. A beautiful show & great memories to cherish & enjoy indeed. To hear & see Sammy Davis's childhood & life stories, my goodness, WOW!!! He was such an adorable child & when he tap danced here, i was simply mesmerised!! Just amazing! Here's the thing, we see so many Shirley Temple videos doing tap dancing/hard shoe dancing, yet here we have our own Sammy Davis Jr as a child prodigy, dancing like the true professional & with such exceptional talent & charisma, yet, we never really heard or saw as much of him as we'd have liked on film. I really think he's been quite underrated, maybe not by everyone as many did love & appreciate him, but still not appreciated enough, both within the US & globally. He was such a talented man & it's as though he was born to be on the stage, standing both front & centre, which he sure did! It's great that he was well recognised & so deservedly rewarded for his 60th Anniversary Celebrations, just prior to his sad passing. I loved him & boy do i miss him, as i miss all those who've died here. :-( May Sammy Davis Jr & all late stars here, rest in eternal peace & we thank God for the gift of their lives & the raw talent & joy, that they all brought their loved ones & all of us too. Thank you Reelblack, for sharing this with your viewers. We do appreciate all the effort, that you put into all of your awesome videos.

He was a good person & a loving Father & @ the end of the day, the LOVE would always be remembered & would far outshine any memories of a bad Father, which for SD Jr, there were no bad experiences to remember, because he wasn't a bad Father. I’m so happy I was born in the mid 50’s into a family of ten children. My eldest sisters were born in the 40’s my mom was born in 1918. So we were exposed to every type of popular entertainment from the 20’s all the way to the 90’s! I feel so blessed to have been born when I was. I feel that the field of entertainment has lost so much! The caliber of artistry has gone downhill IMHO! Thank goodness for all of the variety shows that showcased all of these artist and more! The earlier times will never repeat themselves again, but thank God! for KZbin and the internet to take us down memory lane!!! ❤️😊🙏🏽

Thank you for posting this, this took me back to when i was 20 years old and all my heroes and Sheros were all in one place to honor the Goat at the time. When i was watching this in real time back when it aired it made me feel like a kid again. I feel like that right now. I truly appreciate your channel and all the folks at Reelblack for keeping our Heritage Alive. Thank you all again.

Sammy would have turned 95 on Dec 8, 2020. Thank you for making this great event available to his fans. I just finished watching the interview he did on Arsenio Hal's show about a year before this event. This is when KZbin is a blessing.

Sammy was probably the greatest allround entertainer of all. What a wonderful voice, passing always good mood- just appearing on stage. I love to hear him singin, his movies, the energy of this little great person while stepping. As a colored man that time chances were little so his carreer to get to the top was much more difficult and he had to work harder than everybody´s else.Only Sammy, Elvis and few more played in a leage that makes them unforgettible and immortal ! Thanks for many many hours of pleasure and happyness.

@wol-dieter Schmidt, I don't believe, you put Elvis Presley, in the same category with, ""SAMMY DAVIS JUNIOR""...... It's ""Stunning""....to me. Very few would agree with you!! Elvis Presley, from a little boy, would tip toe to a Window, of the Local Black Church, and that's how he got his first lessons, and began Strumming, his old Guitar. Sammy Davis Junior, was the best In our Generation and still is. Michael Jackson is a close second, so....""CLOSE"".....

Dionne for me, was the best singer of the night, and Sammy Davis, Jr. tapping like a genius. He was a beautiful man, inside and out. So marvelously talented. I grew up with Dad and Mom saying, Mr. Davis was the greatest entertainer of all time. Yes he was, and for us, he still is. Rest In Peace Sammy, you earned your glory with the Lord. Blessings ...

Thank you for sharing this! I've only seen pieces of the celebration over the years, and I am overwhelmed with joy and love. I grew up watching most everyone who performed this night, including Sammy himself. I'm speechless at how beautiful the tribute was. It's sad, of course, because the world would lose him just a few months later, and most of those who spoke or performed have left us, too. That really gets me. Death is inevitable, yes, but some of the ones filled up with magic are gone. I look at the entertainment industry now with confusion. These were the days of quality and most young ones today don't even know these people's names. I don't understand. RIP Sammy, Altovise, Sinatra, Dean, Hope, Pryor, Nell, Diahanne, Whitney, Gregory H., Michael, Gregory P., and Ms. Ella Fitzgerald. Thank you all for making my world a little bit brighter. I'll never forget you and will always love you. Lastly, love and admiration to the presenters and performers still among the living: Debbie, Lola, Goldie, Clint, Shirley, Cosby, Eddie, Jesse, Q, Magic, Danza, Anita, Mike, Dionne, and Stevie.

The greatest performer of all time: Sammy did it all. He could sing, dance, act, tap dancer per excellence. One time two people were fighting for his tap dancing shoes. Magic, one of the great basket ball player, managed to get his autograph in 1990 during his 60 Anniversary Celebration. His contribution to the arts in the USA will be very hard to challenge. He was a gifted child with incredible talent.

Often times, when a loved one dies there is regret...saying, "I wish I had told them how much I really cared." Leaving a sense of unfulfilled emptiness from a missed chance at good-bye. How wonderful for Sammy and loved ones they got this chance to show their love and admiration for him, before it was to late.
